Pros: Good and fast read write speed using 3.0. Good value.
Cons: None so far.
Overall Review: HD tune gave a reading of 86.9 average on a 3.0 port. And had a 38.5 read on the 2.0 port. The card was almost full with 4gb of free space on this 64gb model. Primary use is photos and video using Nikon, Canon and cell phone footage. I also use them for archives, blazing faster access than DVD or BluRay storage plus much more capacity. I have used this brand without issue for a few years and have had no problems.. I can not speak of how they age just yet, hopefully a long time. But they are priced so well it would be an excellent opinion to make multiple back ups of important info. It's not if, but when, anything will fail.
I believe I tried everything Gigabyte and AMD suggested.
Pros: Gigabyte used to be my go to motherboard.... Guess it was time to upgrade from the AM3+. Loved my first ones 790 series and 785. 785 still strong on a number 2 machine.
Cons: Sometimes sound goes first, then keyboard, but often, just freezes after a while.
Overall Review: Ran test on all stuff, good rail numbers, not hot, no OC, stock.Wow, I tried and tried. Drivers, updates, new install with new SSD. New cables too. Different VC. Freezes especially on youtube after a while, sometimes sound goes first with high frequency noise, then keyboard lock, then freeze. Random. Sometimes will go a day, sometimes, 10 minutes. Often can surf with no issues if there is no streaming or video. Facebook videos or news channels or youtube. Thought it was fixed when changed wireless mouse. It did get better when I did that but I do not trust it in the long run. Should have read reviews and usually do. Gigabyte has not let me down before. RMA sorry to say. Could I have missed something, sure, but the reviews speak for themselves.
Good Fast Drive
Pros: Benchmarks show this to be the fastest drive i have right now. It is quiet, and cool. Coolest drive too by 10F compared to the others inside. Everyone is going to have a nightmare story about one drive brand or another but I have had good success with Seagate. No matter the MFG, back up your stuff on a regular basis, it is not if a HD is going to go down, but when.
Cons: None so far.
Overall Review: Mine came double boxed with bubble wrap around the drive. Good job but even if it hadn't, HDs can withstand some extremely high G's. Almost unbelievable G's. Quote:The most difficult shock a drive can withstand reliably lasts about 2 milliseconds in duration. This is why the industry standard nonoperating shock specification is set at 2 milliseconds. Seagate has the highest desktop disc nonoperating shock specification in the industry—350 Gs at 2 milliseconds for U8 drives and 300 Gs for 7,200-RPM Barracudaâ ATA drives.
Pros: Quiet, fast, (burns 16x disk @ 20x), no problems. This is an excellent drive.
Overall Review: Some complain about the bluebirds software, there is a way to disable it. But I thought I would give it a try. Put in a blank and an automatic drag and drop feature appears in the bottom right corner. So I proceeded and it worked fine and fast. Have done DVDs and CDs, no issues at all. I am leaving it on and will continue to use it and Nero for my burning. If you want to remove it, google search (bluebird fix). In MFSN the forum post points to the LG website for the removal tool. But I do not have a problem with it.
Comments: This is the 4th one of these I've bought. Great card. It has a 250mhz core with a 333mhz memory core though, not the 270/400 as advertised. Still very fast frame rates at a very low cost plus it has DDR ram. It also comes with a windows certified driver and PowerDVD software. I bought a 10 foot S-cable for watching my DVDs on the TV. Why they pack such a short one with the unit, i'll never know. No hesitation recommending.
