All anyone could ask for, and then some!
Pros: The more you throw at this ram--the better it performs! My on-line and off line games and simulaters run smooth as silk! One day I was shocked to find out I forgot to shut down my Folding@Home Client; which is processor and memory intensive before fireing up Counter Strike-Source. Of coarse I didn't have any problems, and actually had pretty good day. Several hours later after loging off Steam--I noticed the F@H Client still running in the tray! I'm now sold on Corsair Ram to say the least!
Cons: More of my on-line competitors are finding out about Corsair memory:-(. Other than that; absolutly none at all.
Overall Review: I wish I had tried Corsair memory sooner! You deffinatly get wat you pay for! Lifetime Warranty and tech support, and on a forum at that!
Seagate Barracuda 750 Gb HD
Pros: Quiet and fast; with a good price. Rock solid hard drive, which I tested to be sure before I got very much data on it.
Cons: None so far other than "Made In China", like almost everything else these days!
Overall Review: I've been useing Seagate Drives for over ten years now with only one drive that had to be sent back to Seagate. I switched after a Hitachi Death Star failed with all my data, no warning, and no backup! I'm useing an external Seagate GoFlex as a back-up drive now.
Best Board I've Owned so far!
Pros: This is the most versitile board I've ever had! Adjusting the BIOS is simple--just follow the manual. Coupled with an AMD Phenom 2- X4 955 3.2 GHz Black Edition Quad Core Processor, and a PNY nVidia GTX 470 fermi Graphics card, this mobo should give me at least several good years of service--and this board has the ammemities to be expanded with new offerings from the software industry. The Trouble Code Display doubles as a temperature guage when the systyem is running. The ability to safely Over-Clock in steps, or allow the software to do it for you automatically is really in there! I just can't say enough about this board, and it's my first MSI mobo. The key for me was reading over the manual and diagrams a couple times before I began the build! Useing AMD's Overdrive, my Phenom 2x4 3.2 GHz. processor is running at a stable 3925.07 MHz and everything is Stable! I've never had that much of a margin before!
Cons: The Manual could have been more detailed; especially regarding after the system is up and running.
Overall Review: If I were to do this build over again I'd have added an SSD for a boot drive, and AMD Phenom Black Box 6 Core processor. My new rig: Corsair Obsidion Case w/window,MSI 890FXA-GD70, MSI Combo Drive,Seagate 750 Gb HDD, Segate Free Agent Go 500Gb External HD, 8 Gigs of Corsair Dominator DDR3 Memory, Corsair H50 CPU Cooler, PNY nVidia GeForce GTX 700 fermi Graphics, OCZ Fatality 550 Watt PSU, 1 Top Exaust fan, 1Aluminium HDD Bay Fan.23 inch wide screen Acer Monitor, Razer Mirror Finish Keyboard, Razer Death Adder Mouse. All from NewEgg!
Corsair Flash Survivor
Pros: Built like a tank--lite as a feather.I'm sure this little Glash drive is going to save me many headaches in the future. It's simple to use, and if it goes through the wash, or gets dropped no problem. It is what it is--a rugged little storage unit!
Cons: Price.
Overall Review: The utility of this little drive is what makes it so desireable to me. I can take movies or anything else up to 16 Gb in size any place I go. There's a little Blue light that flashes when the drive is accessed. It's idiot proof.
Evercool Alluminium Fans
Pros: I've installed Evercool Alluminium fans in all my computer builds, and have never had one fail yet! These fans,IMHO are the best money can buy in their price range. By virtue of the Alumn body the air seems to cool better; and they are also quiet. I also use a fan silencer when I install one of these--just to dampen any vibrations.
Cons: Price, depending on how you look at it?
Overall Review: I always install these fans in tight, hard to get to places just to be sure I won't need to deal with a bum fan in the future.
More than I thought, but less than I expected!
Pros: Instalition was an easy chore. I see a marked degree in picture quality, and the unit seems to run at average temperatures with what I've thrown at it so far.
Cons: To get to a fan plug will have to remove the unit. The phone in service took almost 24 hours to get back to me on a question--which I had solved in the meantime. The high end of the graphics are limited to games configured for them. In fact, I can't tell the difference between my Geforce 9800 GT for the games I have now. It's a lot of money for grafics that aren't used all the time.
Overall Review: When I do get a game that intagrates Cuda and Physx-I'll be in there! The Nvidia demos all looked good except the Garage, which I got a lot of artifacts in. After getting over the Gee whiz Bang, I'm a little dissapointed. This is my first departure from BFG cards, because BFG is moving away from graphics cards to concintrate on their other products. I have been reasured that BFG has put aside resources to honor their warrantees though in the future. I'd have bought a 470 from them if they made one!
