This CPU Rocks!

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ - Athlon 64 X2 Windsor Dual-Core 2.2 GHz Socket AM2 89W Processor - ADA4200CUBOX

Pros: Plugged it right in my Gigabyte board. It replaced a 3800 single core. It fired right up and man does it scream. Video rendering was cut from 2.5 hours to less than an hour. I'm definitely satisfied. Boot times are much better too.

Cons: None really. Oh, the only way it could have been better is if it fetched me a beer and installed itself while I watched.

Overall Review: Newegg is great!

Not such good results

OKGEAR 3 ft. External SATA 6Gbps Round Cable, Black, Backward Compatible with 3 Gbps and 1.5 Gbps
OKGEAR 3 ft. External SATA 6Gbps Round Cable, Black, Backward Compatible with 3 Gbps and 1.5 Gbps

Pros: Arrived intact. Fast delivery. Inexpensive.

Cons: Did not work well for me. Using it with an Asus G60Jx laptop and an Antec X-25 external case I couldn't get it to work reliably. Sometimes, it worked, sometimes not. I thought it was drivers or perhaps something in software. After a few days I was digging around some old stuff found an unused eSata I got with a Thermaltake dock. I swapped the cable and bingo, the external drive worked every time and transfer speeds doubled to over 150mbs.

Overall Review: Maybe I just got a bad one. I may RMA it, but then for 5 bucks, maybe not.

So far, So good

TRENDnet TV-IP512WN Built-in Microphone & Speaker, Removable 6mm, F1.8, CS Mount Lens , Micro SD Card Slot, Wireless IP Camera

Pros: Wireless N Motion capture Decent Picture

Cons: Hardware v 1.3 ships with junk firmware

Overall Review: I got it configured and installed with a relative minimum of problems. I also own a TrendNet TV-IP201W so I knew a little going in. After installation the picture was washed out (outside, below my garage eave). A search on the internet confirmed there was a firmware fix. I upgraded to the latest firmware and selected outdoor mode, that fixed the problem. Overall a good picture. I'm pleased so far.

Mushkin Enhanced Callisto Deluxe 2.5" 120GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MKNSSDCL120GB-DX

Pros: Fast. Apps open almost instantly. Easy to install on my Asus G60-Jx

Cons: Expensive compared to mechanical drives.

Overall Review: I rarely give an item 5 eggs but this one has exceeded my expectations. It is fast. It is silent. I was going out of town and needed it fast. Newegg and FedEx got it to me over night.

Worked like a champ

Mushkin Enhanced Essentials 4GB 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500) Laptop Memory Model 991644

Pros: Fast and reliable Newegg (and Mushkin). Easy to install on my Asus G60JX. Went from 4 GB to 8 GB on Win 7 64bit. Laptop recognized the RAM and configured itself prior to next boot.

Cons: None yet.

Overall Review: 8 GB is better for me because I do alot of Photoshop, Flash, Captivate. I was running out of memory when encoding video while running Flash, Photoshop, Captivate and Soundbooth simulteanously. I don't seem to run out now.

Nice drive

Mushkin Enhanced Callisto 2.5" 120GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MKNSSDCL120GB

Pros: Fast, windows experience index went from 5.9 to 7.5. Browser launch is almost instant. Easy to install. Bracket included.

Cons: Only 111 GB formatted. Seems to run a bit hot. Still pricey compared to the Seagate 7200 it replaced.

Overall Review: Adobe apps did not see as big a speed increase as I'd like. Not really a con, probably just Adobe.
