It's Safe Now

Pros: Came with G9 firmware. Flashed to 02HD no problem with Intel Nov. 30th update tool.
Cons: None
Overall Review: There is no need to discuss performance here because anyone who is thinking about putting down this much money for a drive already knows these things are KILLER. I,m just saying there is no pre-release firmware problem now, the newest update tool seems to work just fine, and TRIM is here.
A friendly caution...

Pros: Beautifully made cooler. Tempurature at 31c.
Cons: Very difficult to install. Not at all like the entertaining piece if fiction on the Zalman web site. I had to cut a half inch of plastic off of the fan and fan housing to clear my first stick of Mushkin black leaving only three mounting holes to re-mount the fan. Nothing silly about the memory dimensions. Just a heat spreader like most good memory these days. Also, the fan has to come off to tighten the mounting screws and when I put it back on, it's about a half inch away from the back side of my 285 gtx. Even though it's in an Antec 900-2, a very wide case, I had to remove my side fan.
Overall Review: Maybe its the board I chose, an ASrock p55 Deluxe. Maybe its the case. Maybe I'm just a moron. But I don't think so. Also, I did NOT get my free Arctic Silver.
P5NE incompatible?

Pros: Great card in most machines.
Cons: Nvidia 650i chipset doesn't seem to like ATI.
Overall Review: I pointed a friend toward this Asus card because it seemed to be best for his needs, but it doesn't seem to be compatible with his Asus P5NE-SLI motherboard. And yes I flashed it to the Nov. 09 bios that is supposed to take care of this problem. The power supply is more than adaquate, and the card works fine in another machine. What the heck, ASUS?
audiophilia on the cheap

Pros: Astounding sound for serious music. A high end set of headphones and a quality recording will put you in the orchestra.
Cons: The card will incode a source to DTS or Dolby Digital and send it out on optical to a capable tuner but it does not DECODE a source to be played through a conventional software player such as Windows Media Player. I mention this because the advertised specs say "hardware decode".
Overall Review: If you can hear the difference between an mp3 and a lossless wave file, you want this card. If you love music and you can't afford Mark Levinson in your living room, YOU WANT THIS CARD. I can't afford the many thousands of dollars it would cost to fill a room with audiophile sound, but with this thing, and a pair of good Sennhiesers, I can fill my head.
Worth the Money

Pros: Exellent clocker.
Cons: None.
Overall Review: When I ordered this chip, I was shooting for a pedestrian 4 gigs. Something I could run every day on air with no high voltages, or high temperatures and fans set low and quiet. That is exactly what I got. 29c at idle 50c when working vigorously 67c peak with 8 threads in Prime 95
Correction

Pros: Exellent.
Cons: None.
Overall Review: In my previous post I meant to say "QPI/ memory CORE voltage". Not bus voltage.
