Great buy
Pros: A very good system for the price. Expandable for gaming. Good set of intro software. Very quiet. Love the look, reminds of a Jawa sandcrawler. Acer seems to have put a lot of thought into the user-friendly design (Software and Computer). Acer tech support is good. It was really easy to set up and transfer all files from the old computer. I was loading data on a USB, installing a program from the dvd drive, and searching the web at the same time with no lockups or hanging.
Cons: Wish one of the 3.0 USB connectors was on the top. The stock keyboard being planar like a laptop was a new concept for me, as I do not use a laptop. After loading about 500 G of data, the processor seems a little slower. These are minor.
Overall Review: Got this on sale and am happy I purchased. I upgraded to Windows 7 Professional and Office & Home 10. These are very good. For about $100, I could upgrade a gaming card and would have a superior computer to the Acer entry level Predator.
Good Deal
Pros: Simple to use. No extra power cord required. Run through a 3.0 USB port, it is about double the transfer speed of a 2.0 port. This was very handy in tranferring files to a new computer. It will now serve as my backup drive. Works right out of the box.
Cons: I did not find the stock connector provided to be a problem as others have. Still, the connector at the unit is not as durable as I would like. If you are careful, you should not have any problems. Maybe an extra 6-inches on the cable would be better. As is, it is fine.
Overall Review: My brother also has a Toshiba drive and I was impressed. He was a little jealous. I thought he had a 1TB drive. His is only 500G.
