Cooler Master Hyper TX3 - CPU Cooler with 3 Direct Contact Heatpipes
Cooler Master Hyper TX3 - CPU Cooler with 3 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: A solid heatsink in my book. Running it on my Asus P8Z77-v Pro board with Intel's I7-3770K cpu and it does a great job. CPU runs at 30 to 32C idle - and never over 46C under heavy and continuous gaming load (yet). It has a really quite fan too - can't even hear it at cpu idle or low load. I bought this cooler because most of the ones with the larger 120mm fans would not fit cleanly on my motherboard without covering/obstructing the 1st bank of the memory slots. This one has the smaller 92mm fan and it barely fit - and the fan can be adjusted up a little for those of you with the tall memory sticks with big heatsink fins (like me). You can reverse the fan as well if you don't mind the hot cpu exhaust blowing back over your memory sticks (instead out the back of your case).

Cons: No cons really - but be careful with the push pins that mount it to the board. A little tricky if you don't have them lined up with the motherboard holes just right - and make sure the pins are not in the locked position during install else you might bend or even break the plastic pins.

Can't beat it for the price

ASUS VS Series VS238H-P Black 23" HDMI LED Backlight Widescreen LCD Monitor 250 cd/m2 50,000,000:1

Pros: I just bought this monitor for my new build because I've had such good luck with Asus products over the years. And this does NOT dissappoint. Not a single dead pixel - and brilliant colors. Watching a blu-ray dvd or gaming is just about as good as it gets - better than my high-end 120mz TV really. Some said here in the reviews that it is "too bright" - but the stock settings for brightness are set at 100% - just dim it a little... worked for me... :).

Cons: None really. The stand seems sturdy enough to me and this monitor is really light - but I have mine on a flat, solid desk.

CM Storm Enforcer - Gaming Mid Tower Computer Case with USB 3.0 and Water Cooling Support

Pros: Very roomy for a mid tower case. The ability to remove part of the front HD cage is also a great feature for those with big/long video cards. It is wide enough for most of the big cpu cooler/fans as well. It has great air-flow setup with the optional top-mount 200mm fan ...or (2) 120mm fans if you choose. Cable management is a breeze as well. The front panel USB 2 and 3 ports (2 each) and headphone/audio plugs are real nice - AND - it "looks" good ...better than the pic really.

Cons: None for me - easy setup.

FAST - Perfect 7.9 Win Experience Index!

SAMSUNG 830 Series MZ-7PC256D/AM 2.5" 256GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) Desktop Upgrade Kit

Pros: This is the first SSD drive I have tried and I researched it before I bought. Samsung seem to be tops for speed and reliability from reviews - and IT IS based on the one I got. Amazingly fast. My rig boots up in less than 10 seconds with the I7-3770k cpu. Transfer and read/write speeds as advertised. And the other reviews were right - the Windows Experience Index comes in at a perfect 7.9 on this drive. Highly recommend. AND - got a "free" Full Version copy of Norton's Ghost with the kit - really love that too.

Cons: NONE

ASUS P8Z77-V PRO LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Excellent board. Packed full of features - including built-in WIFI - and plenty of USB 2 & 3 ports as well as SATA II and SATA III. VERY EASY setup/bios - including the "Flashback" USB bios feature that really helps on a new system build. One can go to the Asus web site and download the latest bios to a USB thumb drive and use it to update the board right out the box via the special USB "Flashback" port - and with ONLY the power supply hooked up to the board (no post necessary - no cpu, memory or monitor even required). Great feature and a time saver - not to mention fewer potential problems/conflicts on post and 1st bootup with latest bios already installed. And this rig is FAST FAST with my I7-3770k cpu. It boots up in less than 10 seconds on Win 7. Amazing! It's running rock stable and I scored a 7.8 (of 7.9 potential) on the Windows Experience Index with the setup below. I haven't overclocked it yet - don't think I need to (lol). My build: --ASUS P8Z77-V PRO --Intel Core I7-3770k cpu --COOLER MASTER Hyper TX3 RR-910 cpu cooler w/92mm fan --16GB (4 x 4GB) Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) memory --Samsung 830 2.5" 256GB SATAIII SSD --ASUS GTX660 GeForce 2GB PCIe 3 video card --ASUS CD/DVD/Blu-ray Burner SATA BW-12B1ST --ASUS VS238H-P 23" 2ms HDMI LCD monitor --COOLER MASTER Storm Enforcer SGC-1000-KWN1 mid tower case --Corsair Pro HX650 650w Gold Modular psu --Win 7 Ultra 64-bit

Cons: NO cons at all - but 1 warning. If you are going to use a good cpu cooler (I did) it would probably be a good idea to go with "low profile" RAM sticks - OR choose a cpu cooler/fan that will NOT hang over or block the 1st memory bank (A1). I guess you could reverse the fan and have all that hot cpu exhaust blowing over your RAM instead of out the back of the case - but I would not recommend that. I bought the sexy tall Corsair Vengeance RAM with the big heat sink fins and needed to use all 4 slots since I got 16GB (4 x 4GB sticks) - and my COOLER MASTER TX3 cpu cooler w/92mm fan just BARELY fit. In fact I had to adjust the cooler's fan up a tad where it would not contact the 1st RAM stick (bank A1). I doubt the popular cpu coolers with 120mm fans would fit at all with the taller RAM *IF* you intend to use all (4) memory banks. Course - and assuming you won't ever need 32GB of RAM - one could also just buy (2) of the new 8GB sticks instead - and not use banks A1 and B1.

Overall Review: This is my first time using Newegg on a build and they get A+ in my book. Great prices, good follow-up and really FAST shipping. Good job Newegg - happy camper here. I'll be back!
