Factory overclocked and ready to rock!
Pros: This card is awesome for 1080p gaming. It shreds everything I throw at it. I bought this card not long after I purchased an MSI RX 470 which was also frigging Awesome. It's so quiet, sometimes I have to check and make sure the fans are running.
Cons: absolutely nothing.
Overall Review: I made a mistake last generation, and went with another brand that is still working, but not flawlessly like MSI cards have been for me in the past. I also own, and still have running an MSI GTX650TI Boost, and an MSI Gtx 660. Both of these cards are also whisper Quiet.
update to earlier review
Cons: This is an update to my earlier review of this product where I said do not buy. I received a manufacturer response saying to contact them over a month ago, and so I did just that and here it is a month later and I still have heard nothing from them. What a shameful business practice to post a reply on Newegg only to appear concerned, and not bother to reply to their so called case number.
Overall Review: Do yourself a favor, and save yourself some headache, buy from another manufacturer. Newegg has much better brands available, at comparable prices, from companies that actually try to help when a problem occurs and not just give lip service.
The right stuff
Pros: Excellent board for the price. This board gave me all the features I needed without making me pay for things I would never use. I have purchased expensive high end boards in the past, only to utilize about 20 to 30 percent of the features on it. How many people actually use all their pci slots, or sata connections, or use software raid. I would be willing to wager it's a small percentage.
Cons: Board layout could have been a bit better, but this is a matter of your case layout, so it may be better for others.
Overall Review: I purchased this board to replace another that gave me bsod's when gaming or doing any strenuous activities. At first I suspected my XFX 6870 was the culprit, but after switching cards I discovered it was the board. I now have a stable running system with this board at the vanguard. USB 3.0, Xeon compatibility sata 3, what else do you need.
Pros: Fast and stable. Good at what it does.
Cons: Beware that this card is super long, and also very difficult to install on certain motherboards. For example the MSI P7NSLI which has an audio connector placed at the edge of the board under the exact spot where their is a protrusion from the video card.
Overall Review: I would not hesitate to recommend this card because of that one flaw.
beware video card choice
Pros: no compatibility issues with 3.0 ghz wolfdale, and pretty stable.
Cons: Poor placement of analog audio connector, and or poor design of the video card. I had to bend the audio connector down in order to fit an MSI gtx260 into the top pci express slot.
Overall Review: Not sure if its poor video card, or poor motherboard design, but I am sure both are MSI products. Normally there stuff is top notch baring a few quirks usually fixed in bios updates. One of these two products should have been thought through better.
