My other great Dell monitor.
Pros: Note that I purchased (2) Dell monitors for desktop publishing. My previous PC had (2) Samsung monitors and I wanted the higher resolution this time. This monitor's highest resolution is 2550 x 1440. That resolution though is only possible if you use either DisplayPort or mini-DisplayPort outputs, which is one reason I got it. That is about 70% more pixels than 1920 x 1080.This monitor's base pivots, which means you can use the monitor in either landscape or portrait mode. It has speakers and a USB hub, which can be useful once you start to use them.
Cons: I didn't find any REAL flaws with the monitor. The cable is a little hard to insert because of the way the monitor is built, but that's not the end of the world.
Overall Review: Note that Dell provides a 3-year pixel-perfect warranty, so I did not purchase an extended warranty. My previous Samsung monitors are 8-years old and running great, so I'm hoping for the same performance and longevity with these Dells also.
Interesting installation experience
Pros: These sticks not only doubled my RAM, they improved video and audio performance.
Cons: This was the interesting installation experience. Since memory sticks are put into banks, I first put mine in banks 2 & 4. Well, the mouse worked but the keyboard didn't. Also, when I double clicked on an icon, instead of launching the application, the properties dialog box came up. I was about to return the memory, but instead re-installed them into banks 1 & 3. Well, the mouse & keyboard installer launched (there were actually quite a few). When it was done almost everything worked just fine. So I launched iTunes. It asked me to update to the latest version. When I accepted, the iCloud log in box came up and was flashing and unaccessible. Moreover, Task Manager was inaccessible. I had to do a hard reboot. Since then, iTunes has not requested an update.
Overall Review: I own a Lenovo P310 Workstation. These are mainstream PCs so I'm surprised there were compatibility issues, but there are. Still, the memory is fast and well priced. Overall, I do recommend giving them a try knowing that something may go wrong.
Great product
Pros: I like my Dell monitor. Having a 2550 x 1440 resolution, it is very sharp and enjoyable to use. It has many input ports but note that the DisplayPort and mini-DisplayPort are by spec the highest resolution. That means your graphics card has to have matching ports or you won't get the best picture. To give you any idea of what this monitor is, it comes with an output graph of its spectral output on a graph. This demonstrates your monitors color accuracy as calibrated.
Cons: I don't find any real negatives with my monitor. I shopped quite hard and settled on Dell's monitors.
Overall Review: The monitor (actually the base) pivots, which means that you can use the monitor either in landscape or portrait mode. It has several USB ports which makes the base a USB hub. And comes with a special USB cable to attach the PC to the base.
