Pros: It really is a much more attractive interface than previous XP Pro 32-bit. Installation was flawless; very few compatibility issues - and there is an extensive list of known issues with my old software that didn't install -directed me to the company's upgrade site.

Cons: OK, with User Account Control, this thing gets annoying - but you can turn if off. The biggest con is that M$ is basically forcing us to switch from a perfectly good platform, WinXP, by clearly planning to stop supporting it as time goes on. You can probably get by with XP for another year or two.

Overall Review: Before you install this on your current system, run the Vista Upgrade Adviser on the M$ website - then you'll know what's not going to work with Vista. There's also a software compatibility application there. If more people would to this, there'd be fewer complaints.

Pros: Lightscribe is really cool.

Cons: This thing reminds of the old days, when CD writers went for $700 and were very flaky (20 yrs ago). It doesn't work with all media - DVD-R discs are unreadable; seems to work with DVD+R so far. I.E., it's a poor value for the money.

Overall Review: Seriously thinking about RMA. I would go with something else. Overall Review: I also have 2 Samsung HDD's in my desktops. I haven't done any benchmarking (its hard on SSD memory) but this drive is subjectively comparable.

Pros: Increased windows Vista x86 performance by at least 3 times on my Hp laptop (now it screams like my wife's Mac book Air). Boots and loads to a usable state in about 15 seconds compared with 3 minutes. Can use as external drive with housing that costs less than $5 - it is very light I got this on sale last week - one of the best values for performance I've ever experienced.

Cons: Capacity is the only issue - I downsized from a 320GB to 256GB drive, so I had to move about about 80GB to an external drive. If you're not familiar with cloning bootable disks, swapping this in can be confusing or frustrating. In my case it involved re-sizing the primary partition, unalocating the free space after, and since Hp's come with a second recovery partition, I had to move it before the unalocated space from the first partition. If this has more capacity than your current drive, you just have to clone it. If you don't understand this too well and don't have the software to do it, you might want to buy the drive with the laptop transfer kit, though I don't know anything about it.

Overall Review: My (old) PC laptop was taking 3 to 4 minutes to boat and load before I could even launch an application.. I attributed it to all the junk on it (note - this is not a Mac). After I installed this drive, I can start launching programs in about 15 seconds from hitting the power button. Now I'm spoiled - the internet and LAN doesn't run any slower but they have become the bottleneck, not my hard drive. Now I really believe that most of the "registry booster" and "clean you pc "programs are fake whereas I was only skeptical before. In my opinion there are only two things you can do to speed up your pc: 1) Faster (not more) memory, I mean lower latency memory, and 2) get one of these SSD drives.

Pros: I bought this adapter in March of 2008, and it has performed flawlessly since then. I use it regularly with my desktops and laptops - right now I'm backup up my wife's new Acer One Aspire, which doesn't have an internal optical drive, with an old ASUS SATA DVD - burned recovery disks, no problem. XP SP2 works with my Vista x64, Toshiba XP SP3, all of my really old OEM IDE 3.5" and 2.5" hard drives.

Cons: The EZ Gig II software works but you have to be really careful - I once tried using the disk clone feature to back up my laptop to a USB external HD, with the default settings, and it completely wiped my laptop's disk, with the backup nowhere to be found on the external HD. Luckily, I had used the EZ Gig software to make a complete backup a few months before, so was able to restore it using the EZ Gig software - so just be really careful - just use the Backup feature, or other, safer software.

Overall Review: I'm giving it a 5 for the hardware, but knocking it down 1 for the included EZ GIG II software. Newegg continues to deliver!!!

Pros: Works as advertised. Very durable, moved from system to system, never a problem. Value for price is excellent - paid <$20.

Cons: Technically, none.

Overall Review: I originally bought a stick of this ram about 2 years ago from another vendor - added this one to the old build. Works as advertised, very durable - the problem is that all of the Kingston RAM I've owned has outlasted the rest of the system, but can't be used due to obsolescence.
