Decent Board

GIGABYTE GA-EP43-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P43 ATX Intel Motherboard
GIGABYTE GA-EP43-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P43 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Newer chipset P43, support pcie 2.0, lots of usb on the back, six 6 SATA. I think this is a fine board if you don't plan to CF. Only got 1 pcie 2.0 which runs fine with my 9600gt. The board is a bit smaller than most full ATX board using only 6-7 screws instead of the full 9 screws. This leave some space for cable management and sliding in the case easier. Intel chipset runs a bit stable than nvidia (IMO). This board has been up for a few days and running fine. No hiccups or crashes. Running 4 x1gb corsair XMS DDR2 800, Q6600 @ 2.75ghz, XFX 9600gt (700mhz fact. OC), WD6400AAKS 640GB, ZALMAN 9500A 92mm, Samsung DVD-RW. Cooler Master C5 case.

Cons: No firewire. The north bridge runs a bit hot to the touch but not like it burning. No COM, but hardly anyone uses that. They have a COM slot but you need to buy that accessory in order to work. The front audio port connection is in the middle of the board which leaves a wire running across the board. I like Asus placement of the front audio on the bottom for better cable management. However ASUS P43/P45 boards got a premium price on it. This board is a bargain and a better bang for the buck for my current need. If you do heavy OC look elsewhere. This board is for novice Over clockers that just need the bare essentials just to get by.

Overall Review: Was running my friend's gigabyte ep35-ds3l on my rig for a week or two. It worked great, gave me no troubles, but it didn't have the pcie 2.0. When I overclock on the p35 board vista showed my q6600 at 2.75ghz under system info. System info on this board posted the stock clock speed at 2.4ghz. Checking under cpu-z it did post 2.75 so i'm not sure what the problem is. When resources are needed the clock multiplier booted up from 6x to 9x to run heavier applications. I play COD 4 and CSS on max settings at 1680x1050. Crysis ran at med/high setting with very good frame rates. It's almost the same as my friend's gigabyte p35 board but with a few tweeks here and there, mainly pcie-2.0. For a sub $100 board this board is worth the $$$.

Axion warranty

Axion AXN-6090A 9" Widescreen TFT LCD Ultra Slim Portable DVD Player
Axion AXN-6090A 9" Widescreen TFT LCD Ultra Slim Portable DVD Player

Pros: It's a DVD player.

Cons: When it breaks. Try and contact their warranty department and see if you can get through or a reply back through their email.

Overall Review: I purchase a similar Axion DVD player around August 08. Disc couldn't be read anymore. It broke. Contacted Axion via email and phone. NO RESPONSE. Contacted Newegg 4 times regarding the issue requesting newegg help me contact the manufacture, but NO RESPONSE from Axion. Please be aware that there's a 30 day non-returnable.

NANO RECEIVER KEYBOARD AND MOUSE

Rosewill RKM-800RF 2.4 GHz Cordless Slim Keyboard and Mouse Combo
Rosewill RKM-800RF 2.4 GHz Cordless Slim Keyboard and Mouse Combo

Pros: First off, I was surprised that this thing came with a NANO receiver. It's about 1/3 the size of receive(average flash thumb drive size)r that was displayed on newegg. This item works like it should and looks decent. The range is very good and perfect for HTPC. Using about 10 ft away with no problems.

Cons: Although the keyboard is slim and mouse if somewhat comfortable, it feels like cheap plastic. Not really a con since the price paid for it justify the quality. The free mouse pad combo was icing on the deal.

Overall Review: Got a logitech s520 set and the range is horrible on it. About 5 ft away and it will not detect. This set have much better range and I'm thinking battery life will suffer. The s520 advertised 6 months battery life. Not sure if this one will get even half as much since it's running 2.4 GHz.

still a great drive

Western Digital Blue WD6400AAKS 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive
Western Digital Blue WD6400AAKS 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive

Pros: after having one of these about 7-8 months already i've decided to get another one for storage. Then maybe in the future get a cheap storage drive to save everything in there and use 2 in RAID for my OS.

Cons: I already knew it's a 16mb cached. Although I've read the 32mb cache won't be as significant, but it would still nice to have it at 32mb cache.

Overall Review: Western Digital is my brand for Hard Drive.

It's about the capacitor

GIGABYTE GA-MA770-S3 AM2+/AM2 AMD 770 ATX AMD Motherboard
GIGABYTE GA-MA770-S3 AM2+/AM2 AMD 770 ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: Other thoughts:

Cons: Other thoughts:

Overall Review: The difference between this and the GIGABYTE GA-MA770-DS3 is the capacitor used. DS3 use "Ultra Durable" capacitors which is why it's higher by about $20. Specifications on both DS3 and S3 is exactly the same. Newegg didn't list this having pci-e 2.0, but on gigabyte website it stated that it support pci-e 2.0
