Good drive, Great WDC drive

Western Digital AV-GP WD5000AVVS 500GB 5400 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal AV Hard Drive Bare Drive
Western Digital AV-GP WD5000AVVS 500GB 5400 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal AV Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: -Reliability, has run nearly 22,000 hours. -No S.M.A.R.T. issues or noticeable performance issues.

Cons: -Runs at or exceeds 7200RPM drive temperatures -Drive makes a bit of a clatter, acceptable for it's type, absolutely, but a Seagate Constellation for instance is certainly less audible for comparison. All cons = -1 egg

Overall Review: -Intellipark parks the head, many times. This has not been an issue and modern drives are beginning to take after Seagate and WDC's head-parking technologies (drive has started and stopped nearly 16,000 times) -This is the ONLY Western Digital drive to date that hasn't fail me or my data. Good for this drive, but almost bad for my data had I not backed it up. -Might I personally suggest, don't just buy WDC, buy what's best for you. Idolizing, praising and being blindly committed to any company will get you nowhere. -It was manufactured in second Quarter of 2008

Most Critical Review

Hitachi doesn't care!

HGST Deskstar 7K1000.C 0F10383 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
HGST Deskstar 7K1000.C 0F10383 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Great performer when it works.

Cons: -Developed a "functioning" click of death problem, whenever the drive is idle, it makes a "eh-teh-teh-teh-teh" reading sound constantly, connected to computer only or just power. Sadly, nothing negative is reported via the SMART data, which always seems to be the case with bad drives half the time of course. Of course who knows if I will even be able to see the SMART data were I to continue to run this drive, then it would likely exhibit issues pointed out on other sites and negatively-rated reviews here. I e-mailed Hitachi and they both don't care, so please don't buy from Hitachi if you want to buy from a company that is even concerned with, and they refuse to take even note of my issue, just because it is an OEM drive. Oh okay, an OEM drive makes the problems of a drive YOU manufacturer the problem of the OEM, correct? Good, I will never get a Hitachi drive again.

Overall Review: Nothing disgusts me more than a lack of concern about a problem and no way to make a problem known. Don't know who angers me more now, WDC or Hitachi? Maybe Hitachi has angered me more now. Stay away. At first I couldn't understand why this drive can be rated only 4/5, now I don't understand how it got 4 stars!!!

Great if you have small hands

RAZER Abyssus RZ01-00360100-R3U1 Wired Optical High Precision Gaming Mouse - Black
RAZER Abyssus RZ01-00360100-R3U1 Wired Optical High Precision Gaming Mouse - Black

Pros: Only the top is comfortable. Click (left, right and most importantly middle) all work well and respond fine. Responsive.

Cons: Huge con, it feels REALLY uncomfortable. No, I'm not "claw-gripping" it, I even checked to make sure I was palm-gripping it properly. What makes it uncomfortable is the unsubtle transition from the nice, comfortable material on top, to the fingerprint-magnet, glossy material on the sides and bottom. When it's not subtle, it's like a hairline gap, and it just feels weird. Well anyone with OCD can understand. I can't take it, even after using it for hours. Additionally, this design is so unnatural that it feels as if my middle finger should be on left click and my ring finger on right, instead of the normal index and middle. Although when you get used to it, it can be fine; the top buttons are flattened / curved down. Very weird at first, but a con if you are unaware or don't like this. Grip feels really weirdly The blue logo light, which unlike the deathadder for some stupid, is not customizable (e.g. off or slow fade)

Overall Review: Please be careful when buying this mouse and read all reviews carefully and don't buy it without precaution like I did because I thought people were exaggerating or being ridiculous. I count it a money loss, don't know how I can return and get my money back without losing some in the process. Money wise, I am furious (but who cares?), product wise, I am disappointed. My deathadder of 3 years' scroll wheel just went a couple days ago. I opted for this, and now I have no main mouse, and 2 disappointments from Razor. I'm done with them. Their build quality also makes me feel uncomfortable. It's very shady and notice how people have such mixed opinions. Cute packaging though...

ASUS DOES NOT CARE! DON'T BUY!

ASUS M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3 AM3 AMD 880G USB 3.0 HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard
ASUS M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3 AM3 AMD 880G USB 3.0 HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: When it works, it is fairly stable. Works well with Windows Vista or Windows 7. This motherboard actually seems to in my tinkering and 5-6 installs of Windows work better with Vista, not very usual.

Cons: -Poor build quality; high RMA rate -Terrible BIOS. Buggy, keyboard not always detected, apparently they still can't get full keyboard support in the BIOS, pathetic. -Totally incompatible with anything other than Vista or 7 or newer. XP only works somewhat. -Manufacturer does not keep their drivers up to date or provide proper drivers, prefer to advance your driver-finding skills with this poorly documented and built motherboard -Hard drive indicator light does not always function, another random bug. Sometimes it just stays solid. Has nothing to do with controller -You cannot disable individual hard drives from the BIOS, a HUGE HUGE con even cheaper motherboard I've seen do not lack this feature -BIOS does not allow much advanced control over board other than features boasted such as overclocking. -Lacking of minor features or options much cheaper boards have

Overall Review: -AMIBIOS is a con in my book. I prefer AwardBIOS / Phoenix and regardless I believe ALL mobo manufacturer should state what their BIOS is or is based off of and not some brand name garbage. Do not buy from ASUS. I sent their tech support a full fledged issue list, they neglected every single one and point I made about the issues I was having, told me to use a different keyboard or send in for an RMA. They simple DO NOT care. Unless they are willing to send me another for free, it is not worth my sweat and tears over their poorly build product(s)

Excellent!

Seagate BarraCuda ST3320413AS 320GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
Seagate BarraCuda ST3320413AS 320GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: FAST! Great performer, simply works. No alignment, no jumping, come on folks this is a drive decades past the 80s and 90s jumping and dancing blues with Hardware, it's plug and play as it should be. Totally backwards compatible, if your computer has SATA ports and the latest BIOS, it works! No nonsense. The 7200.12's are far past an apology for both the 10s and the very, eh, unlucky 11s.

Cons: NONE!

Overall Review: Very nice Hard Drive, I'm very pleased. Blows a Caviar Blue far past it's place, It's at least a step ahead of the Deskstars in speed and isn't the greatest bit far behind the over-exaggerated and glorified by, uhm, "enthusiasts" the Caviar Blacks, stomps on Samsung, laughs at older Maxtors, but sadly it won't let you take over the world, yet. Maybe the 7200.13 will include that feature, hehe.
