4th Day LAN Failure
Pros: Easy to install. The sound is excellent and the BIOS update was very easy. Nice features for over-clocking. Future-proof with USB 3.1, M2 and Thunderbolt ready.
Cons: I'm on Windows 7 64bit and in Device Manager under Network adapters > LAN - Intel Ethernet Connection I218-V I got the message "This device cannot start. (Code 10)". This happened suddenly earlier yesterday for no reason. I've tried the following: Updated driver Updated BIOS. Uninstalled/reinstalled device Disabled/enabled device Nothing seemed to work. Finally I slapped in an old Realtek 10 / 100 Ethernet PCI card to get internet.
Overall Review: Considering the hassle of RMA & shipping cost (not to mention not having a computer while it gets shipped) I’ve resigned myself to just keeping the Realtek card installed. But the board has cost me hours of grief and headache. Is it too much to ask for a fully functional MB?
