Most Critical Review

Out of box instability, but managable

Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus Processor 24 cores (8 P-cores + 16 E-cores) up to 5.5 GHz BX80768270K

Overall Review: Replaced a 245KF and 265KF in an Asus Tuf Z890 plus, and MSI Edge z890 Edge TI. Both have newest bios, set defaults then enabled XMP and 200s boost and got repeated blue screens on boot. Disabled both, and started tinkering, found I can set XMP without the 200s for my specific case, and 200s worked if I reduced the RAM even further from the SPD defaults. Setting the D2D and NGU multipliers manually with the suggested values from Intel presentation (VCC system agent up to ~1.2 and IMC up to ~1.4) I can get multipliers of 31x/31x, but anything higher is unstable if test is done using memory rather than just in cache... Also, the 2 motherboards try setting the 200s boost clocks differently than expected from Intel presentation and different from each other... Performance is still enough that I'm fine running derated, I assume there will be some updates coming (or maybe I got really unlucky in the silicon lottery?). I couldn't find any reviews where the testers had any of these issues, but did see a post in the ASUS forum describing similar so I'm planning on the wait and see. Also, the stability with higher clocks seemed to improve if the system was running over the previous hour rather than a cold boot. YMMV
