Most Favorable Review

4 months in, a-ok

Kingston SSDNow V200 Series SV200S37A/128G 2.5" 128GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) (Stand-alone drive)
Kingston SSDNow V200 Series SV200S37A/128G 2.5" 128GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) (Stand-alone drive)

Pros: Solid performer. Stable and consistent. Excellent chassis build quality. 4 months of intentional heavy writes have no measurable impact on drive performance. GC and wear leveling seem to be doing their jobs. GC is also not noticeable in user land. Worked great with NTFS, BTRFS, XFS, EXT2,3,4.

Cons: Read / write throughput is sub-par for a SATA3 drive. Expect to see good SATA2 speeds, but you won't be breaking ~260-280MB/s in either direction. The JMicron controller is definitely worrying, though I have not seen the sequential write problems others have.

Overall Review: I am working with an engineering sample, though it did come in retail packaging, so it very well could be a retail unit. I have not experienced the same seq. write issues that others have and I have been pounding this drive 24/7 since I've installed it. It has been under this stress to proof out for OEM integration and it has passed all criteria with flying colors save for speed. Side note: ***There is no such thing as a SATA3 cable.*** This is like metric time, headlamp fluid, turnsignal bearings, etc.. SATA3 cables = snake oil. You can't really make different 'grades' of A+, A-, B+, B- and 3 ground wires...

Great buy

Famous Brand 20" 60Hz TN LCD Monitor 5 ms D-Sub, DVI-D E2041T-BN

Pros: Great looking TN panel. Definitely one of the better panels I've seen. Item came new in box, though lacking a DVI cable. (not too worried, I picked one up just in case) Very bright, mostly even colors. Had a little uneven reproduction on the white, though not noticeable during use. Response time is great as is the contrast.

Cons: Stand is a bit flimsy. Fine if you aren't going to be adjusting it much.

Overall Review: Great panel for the price. Using it as the girlfriend's netflix monitor and it does the job nicely.

Solid performer

Crucial M4 CT128M4SSD2CCA 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) with Transfer Kit
Crucial M4 CT128M4SSD2CCA 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) with Transfer Kit

Pros: When connected to the SATA III controller in my laptop, CrystalDiskBench is reporting 520MB/s seq. reads. Everything works as expected. Drive runs cool. Enclosure build is of very nice quality compared to some other vendors. 119GB post-format in Windows 7. After making a few adjustments to Windows, my Asus U36SD-A1 boots to login in about 6 seconds. Desktop loaded in 2 after password is input.

Cons: Can't think of any, really.

Overall Review: To the person below who was seeing <300MB/s sequential reads: You may already know this, but you are likely already topping out your 3Gb/s SATA bus; so the speed you may have been hoping for is being shunted by your older disk controller. This drive will treat you well should you decide to upgrade your system. SSDs are expensive, but the M4 strikes a very nice balance of new tech, excellent build quality, and a great price relative to other SSDs for the performance you get. I have an Intel 510 250GB in my primary desktop and this drive has no issue keeping up. System: Asus U36SD-A1 (13.3") Intel Core i5-2410M 8GB DDR3-1333 Nvidia GT520M 1GB
