Absolutely Sick Speeds

Crucial M4 2.5" 64GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) CT064M4SSD2
Crucial M4 2.5" 64GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) CT064M4SSD2

Pros: Blazingly fast speeds. Average read rate of 498.2 MB/s on Ubuntu 10.04LTS for a single drive and access time of 0.1 ms. See below for RAID 0 numbers...

Cons: Wish it came with an adapter to mount in a 3.5" bay

Overall Review: I'm using two of these as my boot/application drive on Ubuntu Server 10.04 combined in a RAID 0 array. In this configuration I get an average read rate of 966 MB/s!!! My computer now turns on faster than my TV. The Windows 7 VMs that I'm running can go from an off state to fully booted in around 10 seconds.

Nice While it Lasted

NETGEAR 8-Port Gigabit Ethernet Smart Managed Pro Switch (GS108T) - Desktop
NETGEAR 8-Port Gigabit Ethernet Smart Managed Pro Switch (GS108T) - Desktop

Pros: Worked well, while it was alive.

Cons: After 9 months this device died. All the connection lights just flash green together and no connected device recognizes it as being connected. Tried to call Netgear support and got dumped to a VM box! I know products die but after paying for a SMB class product I at least expected an expeditious RMA process!

Fast and overclocked easily

Intel Core i5-4670K - Core i5 4th Gen Haswell Quad-Core 3.4 GHz LGA 1150 84W Intel HD Graphics Desktop Processor - BX80646I54670K

Pros: It installed easily, works great, and was able to overclock to around 4.3 ghz using a low profile air based cooler.

Cons: None

Overall Review: I might dial it back a bit as it gets hot at that speed but no complaints so far.

It works!

CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX750 V2 750W ATX12V v2.31/ EPS12V v2.92 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC High Performance Power Supply
CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX750 V2 750W ATX12V v2.31/ EPS12V v2.92 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC High Performance Power Supply

Pros: Provides the power I need to power my GTX 770 video card and Intel 4670K processor

Cons: I should have bought the modular power supply to fit in my tiny HTPC case. This has so many wires it took up a quarter of the case!

Solid case - Tight fit though

Pros: The case is solidly built and looks great in my A/V equipment rack. The fans are silent and work well. Installation went as easy as it could for a compact case

Cons: I had purchased a Corsair H50 water cooler to use in this case but due to the very limited space between the MB and the fans, I had to send it back and get an air based cooling solution. Also, my Gigabyte GTX 770 barely fit in the case vertically. While it was longer than recommended at 11.5", it's ton fin (which appears pointless) touches the top of the case. Lastly, only 3 out of the 4 screws in my power supply aligned with the holes on the back. No eggs docked due to these all possibly being component issues and not the fault of Silverstone.

Overall Review: System specs in case anyone else is curious about what I was able to cram in the case: Gigabyte GA-87MX -D3H Micro ATX Mobo Intel 4670K Processor GIGABYTE GV-N770OC-2GD GeForce GTX 770 Video Card CORSAIR TX750 V2 750W Power Supply Crucial Ballistix 240-Pin DDR3 RAM (2X 8GB) Samsung Evo 840 250GB SSD ZALMAN CNPS8900 Quiet 110mm CPU fan All HDD storage located in a file server, so no magnetic drive in the case.

Works perfectly

NETGEAR 8-Port Gigabit Ethernet Smart Managed Pro Switch (GS108T) - Desktop
NETGEAR 8-Port Gigabit Ethernet Smart Managed Pro Switch (GS108T) - Desktop

Pros: Worked perfectly out of the box. I needed a small switch for my networking closet and this did the trick. The device has more features than I even know how to use off the bat but I wanted something I could grow into as my needs became more advanced. Like other users said, this this is also built like a tank!

Cons: None so far.
