Great So Far

Pros: I author dvds for a living as part of my editing career. After my 2 year old decided to feed my Mac 15" POWERBOOK $4 worth of coins I had to get a temporary drive until the replacement slot loading drive was in stock. Of course I came back to NewEgg to make the purchase, and after going back and forth over getting a drive and dual/enclosure or just an external drive I decided on this one. Was gonna get the LG but I said why spend the extra bucks? I haven't used a dvd-ram disk EVER! I plugged this thing in and burned away a 90 minute Memorex 16X dvd in Toast 6 in 2:20. Couldn't believe it. My Apple OEM never recognized the Memorex disc properly before. Instead of 4X, I would always get 2X with Memorex -Rs. (Tho' some say Memorex doesn't properly encode their disc so I never blamed my drive, but the Memorex are always on sale where I live.) Anyway, I'm hooked, thinking about getting the LightScribe model now for my Quad this Summer.
Cons: NONE so FAR!
Overall Review: Why don't these manufactuers get over the legalese and just say their drives work on OS X with USB 2.0? A lot more Mac people would purchase their drives. I bought one of the first consumer dvd drives in 2000-01 from Ikebana. They accidently sent me the USB version instead of the firewire one. After calling the vendor and being told it'll run in OS X, I was burning away even tho it was supposedly a Windows only device.
