More Powerful Than Hoped For

Pros: Displays 80 to 100 Fps in BF2142 for single player mode with all quality settings maxed out at 1440x900 resolution. Picture quality is noticeably "crisper" compared to my previous 8800GT card using High Quality settings in both card's software control panels.
Cons: Fan is a bit loud but bearable. I ran ATI's Auto-tune overclocking utility and it locked up my system. It then repeated lockup every time it restarted my PC until I reverted to a Restore point (in safe mode) before the installtion... run Auto-tune at your own risk!
Overall Review: Replaced an 8800GT with this card and am very pleased with the 4830's improved picture quality at similar to slightly higher frame rates. Runs a bit warm in my mediocre ventilated case at 71C under 100% load. Tested at 10,500 3DMark06 using overclocked E4300 CPU at 3.0 Ghz.
Outstanding Budget Gamer's Card

Pros: Best bang for the buck value by a large margin for gamers without large screens (less than 1600x1200 resolution). 3DMark06= 11,192 at 1280x1024 compared to my old 7900GS score of 5,450. Runs BF2142 at 80 to 100 Fps maxed on all High settings with 4xAA at 1280x960 resolution. The game is butter smooth with no stuttering at all now.
Cons: I always buy NewEgg when possible, but had to get this card elsewhere since high demand meant it was out of stock. Would suggest the 512MB version for 1600x1200 or higher resolution screens since frame rate does drop off when using anti-aliasing above 1280x1024 settings.
Overall Review: Budget rig: E4300 Cpu overclocked to 3.0 Ghz, 8800GT 256Mb Gigabyte video card, 2 Gb G.Skill DDR2 800 Ram, GA-965P-DS3 motherboard.
Blazing Fast Drive

Pros: Low profile height, runs cool at 33C under load, benchmarks at much faster speeds compared to my 74Gb Rapt0r (other than random access). It has burst speed of 224 MB/s, peak of 102MB/s, average of 86.9 MB/s and tails off to 60MB/s. Random access=15.0Ms compared to 7.9ms for the Rapt0r. The freebie DiscWizard software download let me easily clone an old drive that was going bad. I then just pulled out the old drive and left the new one online in its place without any hitches or loss of data. System no longer stutters in-game like it did with the failing hard drive- it's now silky smooth and just make sure to turn off the Allow Indexing Service option when you rick-click on Properties of your drive in My Computer.
Cons: Has made me want to get another one for our second system, heh.
Overall Review: Budget rig: E4300 Cpu overclocked to 3.0 Ghz, 8800GT Gigabyte overclocked from factory video card, 2 Gb G.Skill DDR2 800 Ram, GA-965P-DS3 motherboard. 3DMark06= 11,192 and runs BF2142 at 80 to 100 Fps maxed on all High settings with 4xAA at 1280x960 resolution.
Monster Performance

Pros: Excellent performance! Dropped my Socket 775 Dual Core 930 Presler Cpu temps at load from low 60's with stock cooler to 46C max. Idle temps in 30's.
Cons: Horrible "instructions" that are just a series of photos with one line descriptions, if that. Somewhat large size but it fit my Centurion 5 case Ok without interfering with memory or anything else.
Overall Review: Oriented mine to exit air right into my rear 120mm exhaust fan an inch away. Gets a bit noisy when fan speed is increased to max, but I've gotten accustomed to it. Very good value for the performance!
Nice Overclocker

Pros: Overclocks very easily, runs cool, stable so far, decent frame rates in games (see below for my setup info).
Cons: none
Overall Review: Upgraded an AGP system with this setup from NewEgg: GA-965P-DS3 motherboard that OC's very well, E4300 CPU OC'd to 3.0 Ghz, 2Gb G.Skill Ram, XFX PVT71PUDD3 7900GS 256MB vid card, Sata HDD's: 250 Gb WD & 74 Gb WD Raptor. Speed went from 1753 3dMark06 score on the AGP with X800XL vid card to 5297 on the new rig. The 3dMark05 score is 9521 with this setup. Needless to say I'm quite pleased with the butter smooth results in games. My BF2142 accuracy almost doubled for most weapons due to previous stutters and lag on old system. DO IT!
Runs Great on DS3 Mboard

Pros: Fired right up in GA-965P-DS3 motherboard, runs fine at overclock (see below)
Cons: none

My BF2142 play is mucho better at 1280x960 res, where it gets 65 to 80 fps, and accuracy almost doubled for most weapons compared to previous stutters and lag on old system. DO IT!
