Awesome, when you get a good one
Pros: I have bought more than 12 for resale. Most are very new looking and work great. Out of this 12, I got 4 duds. Newegg was super fast with RMA, but even one of the RMA replacements was bad. When they work right, they are awesome cards. A touch on the warm and hungry for power side, but you knew that.
Cons: 30% bad cards from bunch I got. And a couple were the more difficult to find very occasional failure, while 2 were just totally DOA...no signs of life at all. Apparaently nobody tests them at all. They just keep sending them out until they stick. I feel I should be getting paid by EVGA as a QA person. I understand iffy cards getting sent out, but completely dead to the world, no screen even in DOS type cards....really?
Overall Review: I know that "recertfified" means "maybe you'll get a bad one" but a little testing would have weeded out at least 2 of the ones I got.
Not the board pictured - Batting .500
Pros: One of the two cards I bought works great !!!
Cons: One of the two cards I purchased was messy-dead on first boot. As in messy BIOS screens, no way the thing would have passed any QC tests. Also, I bought them ho[ping to get the cards in images. Card in images is reference design with cheapo fan. I was hoping to use ealier ref cooler I have lkeft over on it. Cards I got were cheaper, scaled down version, not pictured one with Voltec chip. The Ol' "Bait'n'switch"
Overall Review: My guess is that HIS had a couple pallets of RMAs, ran them through the re-flow machines and is selling them as "New" again. These cards are great if you want 4870s and have plenty of time to play the RMA game.
