Pros: So far its functioned as expected. I can't say I have noticed anything specific either way other than the noise it makes.

Cons: I replaced this in a 2005 imac which was aggravatingly tricky to start with. This drive is the loudest I have ever experienced, clicking away at the slightest command. I don't know if I can be bothered to open the whole thing up again to replace it until I can no longer stand it.

Overall Review: Other than the noise, it was a very good price for a drive and I guess you get what you pay for.

Pros: It started off pretty good and did not sound like an aircraft taking off like the lite-on burner i had previously purchased, tried and dumped after one single day...

Cons: BUT within just 2 months it has started giving me medium sense error codes and turning out coasters to the point where i have to already replace it yet again. I had no problem with the same media in my other burner, an older pioneer. And of course as usual no firmware upgrade service for macs...we don't exist do we?

Overall Review: Its great that the price of optical drives has dropped so much BUt i would rather pay more for a burner that works than have to replace it every two months.
