G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model F3-14900CL9Q-16GBXL
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model F3-14900CL9Q-16GBXL

Pros: Ran at advertised specs, basically straight out of the box. Stable, reliable, OC potential. Expected/Average thermal output at idle/load. Vaguely resembles a Klingon Bat'leth...

Cons: Will slice your fingers, like a Klingon Bat'leth....

Overall Review: Runs great even after I got blood all over one of the sticks. Would recommend.

Most Critical Review

Underwhelming

Intel Core 2 Duo E8600 - Core 2 Duo Wolfdale Dual-Core 3.33 GHz LGA 775 65W Processor - BX80570E8600
Intel Core 2 Duo E8600 - Core 2 Duo Wolfdale Dual-Core 3.33 GHz LGA 775 65W Processor - BX80570E8600

Pros: Runs... "Legacy" hardware friendly...

Cons: Probably the most underwhelming CPU I've ever had the displeasure of owning. Performs poorly if you're looking for anything beyond casual PC usage. For the price, one can get just about any similarly price CPU/MB combo on newegg and get at least triple the performance.

Overall Review: Spend your money on something with a future.

Possibly the most cost effective CPU on the market.

AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition - Phenom II X6 Thuban 6-Core 3.3GHz, 3.7GHz Turbo Socket AM3 125W Desktop Processor - HDE00ZFBGRBOX
AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition - Phenom II X6 Thuban 6-Core 3.3GHz, 3.7GHz Turbo Socket AM3 125W Desktop Processor - HDE00ZFBGRBOX

Pros: This chip has it all. Works hard, plays harder. Hits you gently where it hurts (the wallet)... hurts so good.

Cons: Possibly too much freedom in OC'ing. The temptation to crank up "Also Sprach Zarathustra" and max this thing out is almost unbearable.... WHYYYYyyyyyyyyyyyy, must they tempt....... T_T

Overall Review: Very happy with it.

As Rugged as the Name Suggests...

RAIDMAX SMILODON Extreme Black ATX-612WEBP 1.0mm SECC Steel ATX Mid Tower Foldout MB Computer Case With 500W Power Supply
RAIDMAX SMILODON Extreme Black ATX-612WEBP 1.0mm SECC Steel ATX Mid Tower Foldout MB Computer Case With 500W Power Supply

Pros: 3 year owner. This case has survived not one, not two, nor three or four, but five moves. I worry more about the things surrounding it at this point. Enough room to house most anything you want to put in it. (had 4 HDD's and a 14" GPU in it at one point). Toolless system work's quite well, mayhaps even the phrase "rock solid" could be tossed out there... haven't had anything vibrate to death even after it bounced around in the back of a moving truck multiple times. Can plastic be rock solid... I guess so. ITS GREEN. Could possibly double as a radiation shield? It's function over form for this chap, and this case has dutifully functioned for years. A+

Cons: mounting any CPU cooler that isn't stock or smaller will cause your fan to hit the PSU, effectively negating any usefulness of 1 of the side doors. Cable management in this case is not impossible, but not for the faint of heart. PSU mounting can be a little tight. Amateur's might lose a finger... not really... it can be tight though. My MoBo mount threading was sloppy (McDonald's during rush hour sloppy), I re-threaded the holes, but not everyone is going to want to/know enough to do as much. Nevertheless, this is probably just an anomaly. The name... I... its... augh... really?! Seriously, I get the whole theme thing, and "DODO" doesn't have the same effect... the art is kind of, dare I say, lame. Yeah its lame, and its printed nice and large where everyone is going to look. No toggle for front lighting. only "ZAZZ" is the front lighting. ITS GREEN. I like that an explosive could detonate inside this case and it would take it like a champ, until I have to pick

Overall Review: BUY IT BECAUSE IT WILL FEAST ON THE HEARTS OF YOUR ENEMIES TO POWER ITSELF. Unless you're one of them, high-falutin, fancy-pants, aesthetics type. Then don't, because it won't fulfill your deepest fantasies. It can never be that pretty. Never used the 500W PSU as it was subpar for any sort of serious application (even in '08). Never received a toolkit with my purchase, after 3 years I'm not really certain there was anything useful in it? Never had the, "I'm missing something here" feeling. All together, I would say the con's are mostly just minor annoyances with a few that are borderline bothersome. Recommended if you want a sturdy case.
