Super fast and portable!

WD Elements 640GB USB 2.0 2.5" Portable External Hard Drive WDBAAR6400ABK-NESN Midnight Black
WD Elements 640GB USB 2.0 2.5" Portable External Hard Drive WDBAAR6400ABK-NESN Midnight Black

Pros: In Vista x64, just plug it in and the drive works in seconds! Default partition/formatting for the drive is NTFS. Drive peeks around 40MB/sec transfer rate read and write (which is roughly the maximum transfer rate of USB2.0 period). The drive is almost completely silent, only with my laptop fan off and the drive actively seeking can I actually hear it.

Cons: White Power/Active LED light might be a tad bit too bright for some people, so dont point it directly in your eyes!

Overall Review: It was a tough choice between this or a 1-1.5TB external drive for the same price range. I opted for this one due to the fact that it is fully USB powered. In the end, no regrets. I much love the ability to simply plug it into any system, and go, without the need or worry about a power cable (which we always forget, right)? Since this drive uses a standard USB-Mini cable, if you forget yours, you can simply pull one from something else.

Not Comfort

Microsoft Comfort Mouse 6000 S7J-00010 Black 5 Buttons 1 x Wheel USB Wired BlueTrack Mouse
Microsoft Comfort Mouse 6000 S7J-00010 Black 5 Buttons 1 x Wheel USB Wired BlueTrack Mouse

Pros: The precision of this mouse is great, they did an awesome job upgrading the tracking technology over the IntelliMouse Explorer series.

Cons: The buttons are just TOO STIFF. I bought this as a replacement for an aging IntelliMouse Explorer, partly because the physical shape was similar. Upon using this mouse, I found the buttons (especially the middle click and thumb buttons) to be too stiff to the point it hurts my wrist to use after even a short period of time. After using this mouse every day for work for 2 week, I had hoped that the buttons would have been "worn in", but this just isn't the case, they're as tough as the day the mouse came in the mail.

Overall Review: Not being able to comfortably use the button on a mouse named the "Comfort Mouse" almost feels like it is entirely misleading advertising, especially after how soft and smooth the buttons were to press on any mouse in the IntelliMouse Explorer series.

Great Discs!

Vinpower Digital 25 GB 4X BD-R 50 Packs Spindle Disc Model OQBDR04LT-50
Vinpower Digital 25 GB 4X BD-R 50 Packs Spindle Disc Model OQBDR04LT-50

Pros: These things burn great on my BD-R burner. I use them to back up Camera RAW and edited PSD images. BD-R was the only way to go. My burner came with a smaller pack of these discs for free, so when they ran out I decided to by this larger spindle. So far, so good!

Cons: None. They burn fast and work great!

Overall Review: At first I was getting coastered discs. Every disc would fail verification in Nero Burning ROM. It actually turned out that I had a bad stick of RAM in my desktop which would arbitrarily flip a few bits. After diagnosing this issue and replacing the affected stick of RAM, I've never had a bad burn since. Let this be a lesson to all of you out there who may be having coaster issues. Check your OTHER hardware as well, as this may only be a symptom of an actual problem elsewhere with your hardware!

Best Keyboard

Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000
Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000

Pros: Best darn keyboard you can use! Very comfortable to type with.

Cons: Some media keys that existed on the previous generation of Microsoft Natural Keyboards are missing from this model. There is no previous/next track keys! Also, they removed the internal USB hub from the keyboard, meaning that the mouse can no longer plug into the keyboard for easier wire management.

Overall Review: Its so hard to find a decent split ergo keyboard anymore. This is one of the few models left on the market! Get it while you still can.

Plenty of RAM!

G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL9D-8GBRL
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL9D-8GBRL

Pros: I have two sets of these in my desktop right now for a total of 16GB of RAM. With this, I can work on my projects in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom and Photoshop. If I want to take a break, no need to close them before opening up Unreal Tournament or other games, as there is plenty of RAM to handle all that workload at the same time!

Cons: One stick was flawed, and I didn't realize this until after Newegg's return policy expired. LUCKILY G.SKILL offers a full LIFETIME warranty. Their exchange process seems a little fish, but it worked. A few days later I had a brand new and fully functional stick.

Overall Review: 1 of 4 sticks were dead. Remember to test freshly purchased RAM using MemTest86 or similar utility!

Amazing Mouse Pad

XTRAC PADS Ripper Mouse Pad
XTRAC PADS Ripper Mouse Pad

Pros: This is an awesome mouse pad! Using it with an IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0, and the thing just glides along as if it were on ice. Resting my hand on the mouse pad is nice and comfortable, too. This pad is working absolutely perfect for both fragging and photoshopping, both requiring high-precision tracking.

Cons: It is a little bit TOO large for my desk. I may have to trim off about 2 inches from this thing.

Overall Review: I may have to buy a few more of these things for the laptop, the work computer, and other various machines I use around my client's offices.
