Works Well

SANGEAN - HD Radio / FM Stereo / AM Set Top Box (HDT-1)
SANGEAN - HD Radio / FM Stereo / AM Set Top Box (HDT-1)

Pros: Inexpensive add-on tuner to give HD radio (and AM/FM) to any component audio system. Have it hooked up to my Adcom Pre-Amp/Power Amp combo, and sound quality is adequate and tuning capability is good on HD stations, but not as good as my standalone Adcom or Yamaha tuners for non-HD. Works as advertised.

Cons: Cheap overall look and feel. Display does not match other audio gear. Sometimes drifts back and forth between FM and HD for the same channel, usually with some delay between the two. Semi-volatile memory for clock and most recent settings when powered off externally. Cheap feel to "credit card" remote.

Overall Review: Wish it had coaxial or Toslink out to mate up with an outboard DA converter. Waiting for the Rotel or some other high end unit to become available. Until then hard to beat.

Great device

HP LaserJet 3050 MFC / All-In-One Up to 19 ppm Monochrome RJ-11 / USB Laser Printer
HP LaserJet 3050 MFC / All-In-One Up to 19 ppm Monochrome RJ-11 / USB Laser Printer

Pros: Small footprint, low cost AIO with above average build quality, speed and aesthetics/ergonomics. Menu screens are logical and standalone. Printer works well and 19 ppm seems pretty accurate. Hardware FAX component is very well implemented and is fault tolerant enough to work well with my Vonage VOIP faxline. Scanner is limited to sheet feed; however, it works very well scanning documents to Adobe Acrobat and easily imports a 10 page document in a couple of minutes with very high quality imaging and minimal user intervention. I wouldn't stick photographs or precious documents in there, though.

Cons: The fax printdriver works great from the host machine; when shared (yes, you can share the fax) to another computer, a dialogue box pops up on the host machine asking for the fax number, rather than on the client's desktop. This is weird on networks and would be pretty annoying in any work environment other than a home or single room office: "Hey Bob, can you enter this telephone number into your screen so that I can send a fax?" Doesn't eliminate the need for a flatbed scanner--large documents, photos or 3D objects. No built-in networking. JetDirect USB a weak substitute.

Overall Review: Even though not a perfect product, it costs as much as two toner cartridges for my old printer and is substantially better at everything. I would strongly recommend and am thinking about getting this for people as a Christmas gift.
