Excellent value for gamer/multi-tasker
Pros: Not going to relist all the specs, you can read them yourself. I've played Fallout games, Mass Effect, Skyrim, HL2, Portal, etc, etc.. Ran everything VERY well. Obviously games like Skyrim need to be dialed back a little bit but still very playable. Installed VirtualBox and have multiple VM's running different apps and OS's, all while web browsing, playing music, etc.. No hiccups so far
Cons: Barely any cons, but bloatware was a hassle, just had to spend the first two hours cleaning it off. No recovery disk or OS disk. hate that they do this now, but make sure you clean off the bloat and then burn a recovery disk! The screen is nice, resolution is a bit low (1366x768) but it's something I have gotten used too. The LED screen works well but has tough viewing angles, sometimes it will look really washed out and I will have to adjust the monitor. You will notice there is only a very small acceptable angle, especially when playing games or watching movies.
Overall Review: Definitely a fantastic buy for the money. It has the same processor as some of the top of the line systems I've seen and is much cheaper. Remember, it is upgradeable so dont fret over missing a few gigs of memory or having a little bit smaller hard drive, it's all removable/exchangable. Thanks newegg for yet another great purchase! (10 year customer still going strong!)
Pros: Works well once you get it configured correctly.. Very convenient to have an all-in-one, not a router though...
Cons: Long time to get it working properly, WEP encryption took a long time to work on my laptop (once I finally got it to work, it worked fine), XBOX 360 BARELY works with this gateway, NAT firwall keeps it from connecting fully... can only join a few games, can't access friends games if they have different setup. Unable to disable NAT firewall without have to setup static IP's for all devices...
Overall Review: Although a nifty product, the all-in-one feature, I decided to RMA this modem because its far simpler to just have a dumb modem and a wireless router.. If you plan on using XBOX Live, make it easy on yourself and get a separate setup and stay away from this... if you plan on using it for strictly internet browsing, this product works great...
Perfect for the price
Pros: This laptop is an excellent buy for the price. Personally, you could spend $1500-$2000 and not be much more satisfied with overall performance. I'm not going to list off the specs, you can read that for yourself. So far, I've done virtualization, scripting and gaming on the system and it runs like a top. For gaming, I've run Half-Life2, Fallout 3, X3: Terran Conflict, Mass Effect 1/2 and Duke Nukem Forever. All games ran on High settings with very little problem. Vertical Sync usually pushes most of the games over the top but if you really need it just turn down some other options. Virtualization runs perfectly running Virtual Box and allows me to multi-task seamlessly. Build quality is excellent, aluminum bezel feels sturdy and durable. The trackpad is very responsive but positioned VERY well, doesn't get in the way of me typing and I actually for the first time ever enjoy using the track pad instead of a mouse when I'm just surfing or doing email, etc..
Cons: I took one egg off for two reasons. First, the screen has VERY limited viewing angles. Alot of haziness if it's not tilted at the correct angle from how your sitting. It's more noticable in games, almost resembles backlight bleed but because it's an LED its more of a brightness/contrast adjustment. I've messed with the settings and it's improved somewhat but not perfect. Secondly, was the obvious bloatware and the fact that NO OS disk OR recovery disk is included. Make sure you take your time and clean this thing off and set it up the way you want it (anti-virus, browser, etc) THEN make your recovery disks. There is a hidden 25GB partition that probably has the OS on but I wanted my recovery to not have all the bloat. Takes about 2 hours to do this.
Overall Review: I definitely recommend this laptop. It's great for productivity AND gaming. I'm usually the guy who spends over $1500 on a laptop just to have the best. I was more reasonable this time around and am not regretting it at all. This laptop is a joy to use and it's upgradeable, dont waste your money on the other A53SV models, this one can easily become one of the others just by upgrading the hard drive or adding more memory later.
Pros: Super comfortable, fantastic sound and base, didn't have to adjust equalizer at all. Very rock stolid feel to them, especially the clip on controller for volume and mic mute. I've noticed that other brands I have purchased that have the controller built in feels very cheap and brittle. Love the braided chord on the headset too, very easy to manage and it doesn't get tangled up.
Cons: None that I can see
Overall Review: buy it
Pros: I am very very pleased with this monitor.. I was a bit hesitant about getting it, but was attracted by all the connections and features and of course the price. Not sure about all the reviews saying it has problems with fast paced games as it works perfectly for me. Very very pleased!
Cons: None that I can see... Dont care much about stand adjustment.. Otherwise I would have had to dish out a lot more cash..
Overall Review: Big monitor, great picture out of the box.. Great price
Pros: Dropped my temps from 40 degrees Celsius to 17 degrees celsius at idle, what can ya say.. Thermal grease is pretty cool tool, it's paint on rather than just a glob..
Cons: Sucker is huge, make sure you have enough clearance.. I have the antec 900 case and it just fits, no room to spare..
Overall Review: nice and chilly :)
