reasonable board for HTPC

Pros: System has decent on-board video, supports the 939 cpu socket, has a good package of IO ports
Cons: "8 channel audio" only works with analog outputs. No DOLBY encoding... SPDIF is neutered for normal audio output... will work effectively for ac3 passthrough (e.g. dvd playback) but will only send "pcm48" 2 channel audio over the digial channel. Board would be better with a ALC880D.
Overall Review: This board works very well with an nmediaPC 200BA HTPC case.
Lasts up to the warranty

Pros: Modular, provides decent power
Cons: Lasted 3 years, 2 months (just past the warranty) and died. Since the warranty was expired, I looked and couldn't determine any obvious failed compoents, but my system wouldn't post after it "popped" and replacing with an Antec 650W Modular PSU solved my issues.
Overall Review: If I had it to do over, I'd have bought either a Seasonic or Antec power supply.
Nice well made motherboard

Pros: 4 NVME slots 3 of which can be configured as full bandwidth. Flashback option if for whatever reason a newer CPU isn't supported. Good support from MSI Decent Memory support
Cons: I wish the bios flashing didn't appear to reset bios options. PBO can be interesting to disable if you do not want to use this feature. Every time I flash a bios upgrade, I have to reset my Windows 11 login pin.
Overall Review: I've run Tomahawk motherboards since building my last computer in 2020, and I've had consistent operation for playing games, and other computer uses. The bios is pretty easy to work with, and the layout has a lot going for it. I expect this build to in use for a while now, and it's nice to see frequent updates to ensure the systems well supported going forward. I may have had a few adventures getting here, but I'm happy with this purchase.
Works great as a boot drive

Pros: Was easy to install and get running on my new system
Overall Review: This memory was an addition with the CPU I purchased for my new system, but it does the job well!
Nice, lower cost DDR5 6000 CL30 memory

Pros: Worked well with an MSI X870 Tomahawk WIFI board. After the initial test/boot up, just had to enable the EXPO memory setting and things were running at the correct clock speeds.
Cons: The memory sticks were tall enough that they don't play well with a Phantom Spirit 120 SE CPU fan.
Overall Review: Thus far this works great.
While it works, I wouldn't strongly recommend this unless you have no other option.

Pros: IT does allow for conversion from +12V RGB to ARGB. Static color configurations work ok.
Cons: The bad is that it doesn't work well with any type of rgb patterns. the performance really isn't great, and the colors on my fan's looked pretty bad if I wasn't using a static color setup.
Overall Review: It's far better to come up with an alternative way for pairing your RGB, and if your system only has the older style RGB, it might be better to actually find a controller that supports what your motherboard has... or possibly upgrade your motherboard.
