Since 2004 This is still the best!
Pros: Better than any Off The Shelf or ISP Provided prog!! Small footprint when installed around 55MB, compared to off the shelf products you may find. 1 Running process in Windows as opposed to several like the aforementioned, hence not a system hog. No known infections designed to disable it as opposed to the other products. Ability to create rescue disc/usb to boot during a disaster to scan your system, unlike others. I've been fixing computers for 17 years, no one leaves without this installed. Better scanning depth and fly by install detection than any other, by far. But remember no one A/V does it all, buy this and run it in tandem w/ a good free Antispyware and you're SOLID!! Going on year 8, and I've had 5 nasty infections, this didn't catch in time. Other products let me get infected weekly prior.
Cons: When certain infections attach to the MBR of your hard drive such as TDSS, or a variation there of, NOD will bluescreen upon detection. Other progs wouldn't even notice the infection on the MBR of your hard drive. This can freak you out, but any warning is better than none. Can provide some false positives, and is also quite more advanced than others out there. Scan time is a bit longer than others, but it is well worth the wait.
Overall Review: Previous reviewer stated that certain files were locked or password protected. These are windows protected files/folders, or Read-Only files either by program or Windows default. These files cannot be accessed without USER intervention, so NO infection will affect these specific files. Like I said 17 years Experience, and an 8 Year User of an Incredible product.
I'm impressed
Pros: I did a lot of research on IPS panel LCD's and this was by far one of the best, for the price and size. It took me 90 days to decide on this monitor and I'm glad I waited. I can't find any issues in reviews I've read here or or else where that mention a grain on white backgrounds. I needed this compared to other models, specifically to run Display Port. I'll soon be getting 1 or 2 more, to run at the same time edge to edge.
Cons: I enjoy the USB hub built in but so many Dell Models have a 2.0 Hub built in. I'm surprised this didn't have a 3.0 hub. Also with Display Port 1.2 out these days, why this did not have Daisy Chain built in is sad. Only the Dell 29" version has Daisy Chain, which makes it quite elitist.
