Great Monitor, Poor Speakers

Acer G276HLDbmid Black 27" 6ms (GTG) HDMI Widescreen LED Monitor 300 cd/m2 ACM 100,000,000:1 (3000:1) Built-in Speakers
Acer G276HLDbmid Black 27" 6ms (GTG) HDMI Widescreen LED Monitor 300 cd/m2 ACM 100,000,000:1 (3000:1) Built-in Speakers

Pros: Big screen that looks great playing HD videos, and displaying general applications. Slim and lightweight and it can be wall mounted! (which would be my prefered method after dealing with the stand, see other thoughts) No dead pixels out of the box, and no issues to date. Doesn't add much heat into the room.

Cons: Speakers are low quality with a tinny and muffled sound. However, I am not using them.

Overall Review: Acer provides all the cables you could ever need in the box. HDMI, DVI, and VGA. So there is no need to buy any extra cables that you think you might need. Unless you want gold plated cables for some reason. Also the stand could have been made differently, in my opinion. You have to screw the base to the tilt unit with then screws into the monitor and the holes don't line up quite right, which makes you feel like your about the break your brand new monitor.

Most Critical Review

Not what I was expecting.

CORSAIR Hydro Series H100 (CWCH100) Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler
CORSAIR Hydro Series H100 (CWCH100) Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler

Pros: -Offers cooler temps at higher loads. -Self contained and maintenance free. -Easy to install.

Cons: -Quiet is not a word I would use to describe this. -Things get a bit messy with all the wires. -You don't have control over the fans, despite it claiming to have 3 modes. It just does its thing and keeps the computer cool.

Overall Review: This thing sounds like a vacuum cleaner at start up, it does get quieter over time. It is unnecessary to have the fans on full blast on start up. It is a waste of energy and shortens the life of the fans. Not to mention loud.

This is Windows 7

Microsoft Windows 8 64-bit (Full Version)
Microsoft Windows 8 64-bit (Full Version)

Pros: -Windows 7 with enhanced touchscreen features. -Windows 7 with performance enhancements. This is Windows 7 folks just better with more functionality. If you don't like dealing with the new "start screen" download Classic Shell, or Start 8. Those programs will bring back the start menu until Microsoft adds it back in.

Cons: -Everything seems kind of flat, but this really isn't much of a con. -Some printers and other "legacy" devices don't work as they should, expect this issues to be worked out rather quickly.

Overall Review: If you have or want to get a touchscreen get Windows 8, if you want a better running version of Windows get Windows 8. It is much better optimized and uses less of your systems power.

Works, but I won't trust it.

SeaSonic SS-750KM3 750W ATX12V V2.3 / EPS 12V V2.91 SLI Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready
SeaSonic SS-750KM3 750W ATX12V V2.3 / EPS 12V V2.91 SLI Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Powers the system. Modular. Well built appearance, also feels sturdy.

Cons: High pitch buzzing and whine. Cables are short.

Overall Review: While this PSU works and displays voltages within tolerances of 1% I will not be using this PSU, as it has a disturbing buzzing and whine to it at random points and will even produce this noise in what seems like conjunction with the mouse movements. I honestly have no idea what would cause this. However, I will not keep it to find out if it is something that will cause me more severe issues in the future.

Good, but?

Intel 320 Series 2.5" 80GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SSDSA2CW080G3B5
Intel 320 Series 2.5" 80GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SSDSA2CW080G3B5

Pros: Fast, cut boot time in half and opens small applications practically instantly just after login.

Cons: I am not sure if it's the SSD, but it seems like it doesn't want to multi-task very well. While downloading and installing the D3 beta I noticed frequently my mouse pointer was shuttering and slowing down. I have my OS, Ventrilo, and Chrome installed on the SSD. However, this is a small drive so I am not too upset about that, I just hope its not a sign.

Overall Review: It did what I wanted it to do, load my OS quickly, I will attempt to put Office and some other applications on it, and hope that it doesn't slow down this drive. I bought this at Best Buy, because I had some gift cards which made it cheaper than Newegg and despite Newegg being awesome it was faster to get home as well.

Great Headset

Creative Fatal1ty Gaming Headset
Creative Fatal1ty Gaming Headset

Pros: Good overall sound quality, great microphone quality, comfortable to wear for extended periods.* The bass quality is good could be better but I am not complaining because of the price ($32 special that ended, sorry) Detachable mic kind of worried me however I was pleasantly surprised by how sturdy it feels. It feels light on my head even after upgrading from an over the ears headset that weight about 3 ounces. Music sounds great, games sound great, voices sound great(over Ventrilo would expect the same for any other VoIP including Skype) Seems very sturdy despite feeling flimsy. (see other thoughts for a interesting story)

Cons: Feels cheap but has been tested and did not fail (see other thoughts) Cord wound itself up (see other thoughts)

Overall Review: At first this headset seemed a little tight on my head but over about 2 days my ears and head got use to it and I barely feel it anymore. Interesting story time: While I was sitting at my computer with the windows open in my room a wasp flew in and landed on a poster above my monitor so i grabbed a heavy book got up on the chair and smashed the wasp, while dismounting the chair it spun (go figure) knocking my headset off the desk the cord and headset both wrapped around the chair back and an armrest and pulled rather hard on the cord at the plug end and on the end going into the headset. Despite all that the headset still works like its brand new & it did straighten out the cord which had a tendency to wind itself up. Yet I do not recommend that you try that.
