Intel Core i7-975 Extreme Edition - Core i7 Extreme Edition Bloomfield Quad-Core 3.33 GHz LGA 1366 130W Desktop Processor - BX80601975

Pros: Over a year ago I was lucky enough to be handed one of these processors. Running stable at 4.0GHz (1.256V) for over a year I would have to say that this processor delivers. My temp usually idles around 35-40C and gets around 75C under heavy stress (Prime95 Torture Test heavy) with just air cooling (Zalman CNPS9900ALED). Being on my 6th or so processor/rig I would have to say that I have never experienced such reliability, as it has yet to crash or lockup.

Cons: Had to buy a new motherboard and ram when I won this processor... :P

Overall Review: Would I have paid $999 for this at the time? Not a chance. Would I be willing to pay $999 for a new EE when a substantial upgrade is released? Definitely. Though I didn't spring the house payment for this processor the reliability which I have experienced could sway me in the future to make such a purchase.
