Best External Drive Around
Pros: Spacious external HDD with 3TB of storage (which is really 2.72TB but that's how HDDs are). USB 3.0 is blazing fast as I reached close to 200MB/s when transferring files to the external drive. The enclosure is pretty solid and the adapter is very innovative that allows for different adapters to attach underneath. The enclosure is warm to the touch, not burning hot. There was some software already on the HDD, but I never got prompted to install it. I just formatted the HDD as I didn't need the software and it's become my media drive for movies, music, pictures, etc.
Cons: The USB 3.0 cable that comes with it is a bit on the short side, but nothing huge to deduct an egg from the rating.
Overall Review: All around great drive. I'm a big Seagate fan and have never had a single drive failed with me - I have four 1TBs installed in my computer. I would love to see a NAS solution from Seagate that allows you to hook up two of these drives without needing to use something like Pogoplug to do it. Though you could always take the HDD out of the enclosure and put it in a NAS enclosure. The external drive is a cheaper solution to get a 3TB HDD than buying the bare drive Seagate has out now ($149.99 vs. $239.99). Running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on my computer.
