Great Little Board
Pros: A great little board for an inexpensive small desktop system or a small(er) server - and a great price for everything that is included. The price and features on this board are great!
Cons: None.
Overall Review: Since this board is in a home server I have no need for overclocking it and haven't had any heat issues. I'm not using RAID, but intend to use the ESATA port and an external dock to do backup. Yeah, it will stink if I loose a hard drive, but it isn't anything I won't be able to replace. After all, my goal was an inexpensive server, and with 4x2GB drives installed it fits the bill nicely. BTW - I always backup all my important stuff, so that isn't an issue :) If you have any questions in regards to the capabilities and functionality of this board it might be best to Read The FINE Manual. Also check the QVL prior to purchasing your memory. Remember that the system video does utilize some of the memory, so be sure to plan appropriately. Those that want to play with all the nerd knobs might want to consider other Gigabyte boards that would be better able support your desires. After all, what do you expect for the price?
Awesome upgrade
Pros: All in all, a happy camper. Been a while since I've done the SATA drive thing as I have been using SAS drives. Needed to change out the old drives because I started having some hardware issues. Fast transfer speeds - maxes my network (of course). Fast disk-to-disk via my (older) HBA. I saw 180MB/S; need to verify that. Runs cool Noise is not an issue (can't hear it over background noise). A real, 3-year warranty (xmas, 2023). 37 hour preclear.
Cons: The dreaded NewEgg drive packaging - drive in bullble-wrap envelope in a (small) box that was placed to freely bounce around in a larger box with its sibling. The outer big box came pristine via the brown Truck Co. (a surprise!). The issue was forwarded to NewEgg, and was NOT a reason to derate a star from the product as so many people do.
Overall Review: Awesome dive, does exactly what it is meant for - and isn't SMR!
Hppy I purchased this unit.
Pros: Works as advertised. Testing plug is a plus. I purchased this because the original power supply I was looking at wasn't availale.
Overall Review: Works as advertised. I've experienced no problems and the unit is behaving well, no issues have been experienced.
Works great for intended purpose
Pros: Works as advertised.
Cons: None Found.
Overall Review: Memory works as advertised. I purchased the memory with the intent of NOT overclocking. The only thing I found is that I needed to specify the memory speed as the motherboard (ROG STRIX 470-F Gaming) got it wrong.
Great monitor.
Pros: Very sharp, extremely bright monitor (so much so that I had to decrease the brightness). Text is crisp and movies look great. Nice black level and a great viewing angle. Switching between input works well (I switch between my desktop and my WDTV Live HD when checking my library).
Cons: The LED and EnergyStar stickers were put on cockeyed.
Overall Review: As with any other brand-new monitor, you need to take some time and make adjustments (color, saturation, etc..) up front (just sayin'). I knew from other reviews that others have had issues with the monitor stand. I haven't, and found that it is fairly easy to tilt to the correct angle. BTW - the stand is one of the reason I purchased it - it is far more stable than some of the other new Samsung monitor stands. The monitor is very light; my wife was surprised that even she could easily lift it (heh). Like others have said - all in all, a great monitor!
Comments: Don't know why I waited so long to buy some *good* memory. You do get what you pay for. No problem installation, and my SiSoft numbers are greatly increased! I Purchased on Thursday and wasn't expecting it until Wednesday. It showed up Monday. Newegg rocks AGAIN!
