Great LCD
Pros: Incredibly crisp, vivid picture right out of the box. Games look incredible and the thing makes it that much easier to get through the day with my graphic work. Overall, I love this thing. Prior to the 225BW, I was using an old IBM/Trinitron 21"
Cons: Colors and viewing angle. Initially you absolutely must set up a color profile for the display. I ended up using a "Spyder2Pro" calibration system to correct my color, and it did a great job. The main con I have w/ this monitor is the viewing angle, though...you need to be head-on at 90 degrees in order not to get any color/brightness variance.
Overall Review: Worth every cent.
Will not post.
Pros: Looks nice.
Cons: Will not post. I have emailed asus with no resolution as of yet. The system will power up for 1sec, then power up again..over & over. I have tried reseating the CPU and fan, using only 1 stck of ram (in orange slots) clearing the cmos....removing battery for 5mins, etc. I have tried four video cards in the machine as well. Can anyone please offer some advice? I hope I don't need to RMA the board. Here are my system specs: ASUS P6T i7 920 Kingston HyperX 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 Corsair PSU 750w EVGA GTX295 ZALMAN CNPS9900LED 120mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler
Pros: Great board overall. Very Quick, and generally a nice layout overall.
Cons: I'm unable to get the board to recognize the ram I purchased in triple channel, much less anything over 4gb. I'm aware, now, that the RAM isn't in Gigabyte's compatibility list (and is rated 1.65v), but has ANYONE been able to get the following ram working correctly with this board? CORSAIR XMS3 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel Kit : Model TR3X6G1600C9 (12GB total)
Overall Review: If anyone can please let me know (including Gigabyte) I would be very grateful as I would like to avoid the RMA...thanks!
Pentium 631 65nm Support
Pros: This motherboard DOES have Pentium 631 65nm Support. I'm still in the process of installing XP and I'll let you know how it performs later on. So far though, the 631 proc. is running at about 35C w/ stock cooling, which is great.
Cons: none so far.
Overall Review: I'm letting anyone who's considering buying a 65nm core processor know that this MB does in fact support it, and runs very cool.
Incredible Deal for the money
Comments: Bought one of these a few weeks back and I can say I am truly impressed. The card exceeds expectations in benchmarks and real-life scenerios. I'm running a 3.2Ghz P4 w/ 1 gig of DDR ram on an Abit ic7-max3 motherboard. The following aquamark score is at standard clock speeds, but this card is capable of 580/1250! AquaMark Score: 58636 Previous score in the same machine with a geforce4 ti4600: 19251 That says it all...3X the performance...every game I throw at it runs smoothly....I'm a first-time newegg customer and can only say thanks...I will definitely be buying from newegg again!
