Solid performing system
Pros: Good construction, easy to get into and manage. Everything just works.
Cons: Tried two USB 3 cards and they didn't work. Had to go with a HP brand USB 3 card that required a power connector. Still, got it at a good price and it worked very well. Not enough power connectors from the supply. Not long enough. Needed one for my Quadro K4200 video card and the USB card - just barely got them connected. Nothing left for anything else. Luckily, I don't need anything else, yet.
Overall Review: Good value. Solid performance. Looking forward to a long time with it. Hopefully this used system will hold out for many more years.
Came with drive trays that description said wouldn't - BONUS!
Because the description stated "only comes with drive trays with drives you order" I figured I better order some then. So I did. Got four of them ordered from another shopping site. Pretty good deal too. Then the system came and the first thing I noticed besides the case scratches (hey, it's used and 10 years old - it's vintage!) was that they actually did include the drive trays - all of them. BONUS!!! Now I have enough to swap out when I want to without having to move trays to disks - which is a pain. The system was relatively dust and grime free. Obviously, there was some dust here and there - to be expected - but for the most part it was looking really good. So far I haven't found any broken parts or pieces, so that's a good thing. All in all, I'm very happy with the purchase. I even got a video card I didn't expect, figuring no video card or onboard VGA only. Got a Quadro K420. Yanked it out and replaced it with a Quadro K4200 I had ordered off another shopping site when ordering the system here on Newegg. I would have preferred one stop shopping, but hey, I got where the cheaper goods are. The system performs as expected. Using it for video editing in Premier. Trying to get a USB-3 card working in it. Tried two so far, no go. Found an article that recommends the HP version of USB-3 card, It'll be on order as soon as my returns are processed. Reports are that the HP card works in the HP Z800 - well I would certainly hope so!!!
