Great DVD drive
Pros: Slot load, attractive bezel, very compatable, and dependable.
Cons: Wish it were sata interface and cannot burn mini CD / DVD disks (of course)
Overall Review: I really like the slot load drives and have used Plextor products frequently throught the years so this was a pretty straight forward choice. Also the bezel mached nicely with the black Aspire X-Qpack case.
Great value but - Uh oh! sound quality
Pros: Great price, assortment of adapters, and no on-board video
Cons: Audio - low quality audio
Overall Review: ... gave this motherboard a much lower rating due to the audio quality. All around the board is great: 6 pin 1394, no video on the board, great set of drivers, nice layout of the board itself, front panel connectors adhere to common standards, and good performance out of the built in raid adapter.
So far so good
Pros: Quiet and good performance
Cons: Nervous about WDs failure rate
Overall Review: Great performers, these drives have been on a two disk stripe for the past couple months and have had no problems.
A Good 64bit Processor
Pros: performance
Cons: a few applications that are not optimized correctly
Overall Review: Have it up and running on the 64 bit version of XP and SUSE runs majority of 32 applications just fine and the 64 bit no issues.
It's memory
Pros: Corsair is a reputable company with overall good products. The LEDs would help in diagnosing if problems were to occur.
Cons: not much to say for cons, "Uh, I wish the price was two bucks?"
Pros: Great cooling design, pront panel adapters, good looking, and even better price.
Cons: Construction is a little flimsy making the case easily bendable while cover is not on it. So be advised - make sure the motherboard and cards are mounted and seated properly.
Overall Review: First off I really enjoyed working with this case. Installed items are: Foxconn NF4K8MC board, AMD 4400+, EVGA 7800GTX KO video card, 2G Corsair XMS memory, Plextor slotload DVD, 2 WD 400Gb sata drives, and I swapped out the power supply with an OCZ modstream 520 (needed a special thin right angle cable for the DVD to fit). Yes everything fits nicely and there are no thermal issues. The case also allows room for great cable management - with a little patients. Also it is much quieter than expected.
