Firmware update is a Must

Pros: 8 Drive Capacity Many Raid Level Quiet on low fan setting Fairly Fast
Cons: Little to no Documentation Instruction references steps that doesn't exists
Overall Review: My last review was pretty negative, where I couldn't find any help or documentation on the website. I finally follow the leads of one of the review and looked into their forum section. Found a firmware update, and updated both controllers. Now I am getting a steady 60 - 70Mb write speed. Disregard the forum thread that says firmware update for raid 50 only. I am using raid 5, and I took a change to see if performance would be better since I was getting topped out at 8Mb write. And sure enough the firmware did fix the major issue.
Not as advertised

Pros: If the correct MB shipped to me, it would be nice.
Cons: According to Asus, this MB is original part of a barebone package. Known as Vintage VH1, if you need more info on this more, look up the manual through that. Does not have Raid 5
Overall Review: If everything listed on Newegg is correct, this would be an excellent board for the price. But it is not.
Could not get it to work on AC

Pros: Cheap
Cons: Have the ASUS RT-AC66U and everytime trying to connect to the 5G AC band it will connect for 1 second and drop all signal. Updated drivers from website, still same issue. Going to RMA this and go with another AC adapter.
Overall Review: This did connect to 5G and 2.4G using N standard since I also have the Linksys EA4500-NP. But I brought this so I can upgrade my network to AC standard.
Same problem as other has described

Pros: Cheapest solution
Cons: Very similar to other's experience. Once the repeater is setup, you can't get to the control panel anymore. I had success in configuring the repeater, but after 2 or 3 days of use, connections to the repeater shows no internet access. Only solution around the problem is to unplug it and plug it back in.
Overall Review: The antenna is a bit small but the signal strength is pretty strong compare to what I had before. But needing to unplug the device and plug it back in ever few days, or during a middle of a netflix streaming movie is more than enough for me to think of another solution. I am tempted to call tech support, but since the loosing connection is spuradic, dont really know when to call tech support and all they are going to say is let reset or unplug the device and see if it works. Well yes, but I dont want to do this every now and then. You didn't buy a device that suppose to work occasionally.
Very Poor Performance

Pros: 8 Drives support Built in (supposedly hardware) Raid Pretty simple configuration
Cons: Performance is mediocre. I have an Asus P8Z68-V Pro/Gen3, I am using the onboard USB 3 on the back panel. 4x3TB seagate 7200rpm drive. Reading from a 8x2TB raid 5 setup. I get a consistant of 7 - 8MB write using USB3, file size ranging from 10Kb to 10Gb. Read is a bit faster at 50 - 60Mb. In comparison to my regular Seagate USB3 3TB drive, I get consistant of 40 - 50Mb write and 80 - 90Mb read. I have purchase a USB PCIe card and waiting for that to come in. Hopefully that can boost the performance to at least 50 - 60Mb write. But at the moment, this is by far the most disappointing san/raid device I have used.
Overall Review: It would be nice if this raid system has some sort of diagnostic tools to show what is going on with the system. My other raid took 2 days to initialize 8x2TB raid 5, while this one is almost instant, so I am wondering if the poor performance is due to initial setup. But I have no indicator on the box nor do i have any type of software tools to figure that out. This device is a great idea, but poorly implemented and poorly supported. Company website has less information than newegg which is pretty sad.
Its ok

Pros: Looks very nice, material feels durable
Cons: I have an IPhone Dock, and because of the extra underside plastic, causing the connector not able to be plugged in. I have to remove the case in order to dock.
Overall Review: The shipping took forever, and the processing took just as long. Their customer support called to make sure I have an IPhone 4 before shipping the item out. (3 days after purchase).
Received Used item
The only reason it is getting two eggs is because the delivery was prompt. The item when opened was used, The cover to the adapters has many scratches on them, and the plastic film that adhered to it does not stick to it. In the documentation there was a mention that there should be an extension cord that came with it, it is missing. The box it came in does have a plastic shrink wrap, so it is most likely the seller received this item back from a customer repackaged it and sent it to me. Completely unsatisfied with this, and surprise newegg is allowing such subpar seller on their market place.
Took a long time to ship out
The item is pretty good quality, but the seller charged my credit card and sat on the order for almost a week before shipping. I expected better service control from newegg even if it is a 3rd party seller.
