Netgear PL1200-100PAS HomePlug AV2 MIMO AV1200 Powerline Gigabit Ethernet Adapter Kit

NETGEAR PowerLINE 1200 Mbps, 1 Gigabit Port (PL1200)
NETGEAR PowerLINE 1200 Mbps, 1 Gigabit Port (PL1200)

Pros: I had the Trendnet AV2 adapters which gave me an average transfer rate of 4.8 to 5.2 megaBYTES per second from a TIVO to a computer. TIVO is on the 1st floor computer on the 2nd floor. This is also the worst wiring section of the house. The new Netgear P1200 is averaging 7.8 to 8.2 megaBYTES per second from TIVO to computer. That is more than a 50% increase in speed. The best wiring area in the house can support 10 megaBYTES per second computer to computer using the Lan Speed test. I wish the TIVO could do that. I would have given 5 stars but they do not deliver the advertised 1200 Mbps in my 1900 sq foot house.

Cons: The only CON is the size of the unit with the Pass-Thru. Without a special adapter on the wall socket it is the only thing that fits on a 2 outlet socket. I found adapters that will allow the use of both sockets. So a little extra dough and you're set.

Overall Review: Last but not least setup is easy. I just plugged them in and they all talked to each other. I have four units in total. A TIVO, Wireless Access Point and a 720P Camera all hooked into the central unit near the master router. They all worked.

Great Router

ASUS RT-N66U N900 Dual-Band WiFi Gigabit Router
ASUS RT-N66U N900 Dual-Band WiFi Gigabit Router

Pros: My backdoor is 24 feet from the router. The Belkin 600 I owned gave me a download speed of 9 meg. The RT-N66U gives me a speed of 24 meg on a 25 meg download line at 15 feet further away from the house. Huge difference. At 100 feet the iPad, which has 3 bars max for connection strength, gives me 2 bars facing my house and 1 bar with my back to the house. That is amazing. Software is above average but I would not consider it great. Setup is easy but you need to sign on and go through a setup process to get back into the app each time you use it. Sharing a single wired USB printer between two machines seems to be working fine. But we have not done a lot of printing yet to insure that. I have not hook up a hard drive yet. All in all very very satisfied and a must buy router

Cons: Software could use some improvement. It would not stop me from buying this router.

Overall Review: Super router, very nice looking in your computer room. Blinking blue lights tell you all need to know about what is working.

Antec True Power Trio TP3-650 650 W ATX12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready Active PFC Power Supply with Three 12V Rails
Antec True Power Trio TP3-650 650 W ATX12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready Active PFC Power Supply with Three 12V Rails

Pros: Super Power Supply. More cables and connectors then I know what to do with. Has two connectors just for the Fans in case. Which they were so close together so I could use it for both front and back. Running a week and no problems.

Cons: If any. More fan ONLY connectors.

GIGABYTE GA-EP35C-DS3R LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Dynamic Energy Saver Ultra Durable II Intel Motherboard
GIGABYTE GA-EP35C-DS3R LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Dynamic Energy Saver Ultra Durable II Intel Motherboard

Pros: Nice motherboard. I have no complaints at this time. I installed the ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro 92mm on top of the Intel Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 Wolfdale. Very tight fit on to of the North Bridge heat sink. It fits. You just need to be slow and careful. Memory fits in nice. A little close to the 24 pin power connector. Board seems to run cool. Case and CPU temps are below the 40 degree mark. I'd buy another one if I was doing another build.

Cons: Only one is the distance between the IDE connector and the CD Drive I have installed in my case. The cable needs to stretch out all the way. Should really be doing a SATA drive.

Enermax Marathon 80mm Silent PC Case Fan UC-8EB
Enermax Marathon 80mm Silent PC Case Fan UC-8EB

Pros: Very nice fan. I purchased 5 of them. 4 for one build and 1 for another build. I have two as input into the box and two as output. The CPU heat sink sits right in front of the back ones. These fans are super quiet. I cannot hear them even with the case open and I am right next to it. hey do not move a super amount of air. They keep the air moving in the case. CPU temps are a low of 26 to a high of 31, running all day. Case Temp is 28 to 34 running all day. The fans move the air.

Cons: If any at all. They could move a little more air. Not a big deal for me.

Link Depot C6M-7-RDB 7 ft. Cat 6 Red Network Cable
Link Depot C6M-7-RDB 7 ft. Cat 6 Red Network Cable

Pros: Great cable. Download speed went from a range of 15 meg - 17 meg to a constant 18.5 to 20 meg. Max bandwidth is 22meg down. Upload is always around 2meg. Much better then the CAT5 cables I was using. Though about CAT5E. For a few bucks more lets try these. Works perfectly.

Cons: If any it is the stiffness of the cable, would like a little more flexibility. But then thats probably why they are so great.

Overall Review: None
