Excellent starter universal remote!
Pros: - I replaced 5 remotes with this one remote (Mitsubishi TV, Dish receiver, OPPO DVD player, Sony AV receiver, no-name brand HDMI switch) - The web-based programming took some getting used to, but once done was pretty easy to tweak - It found the cheapo Chinese HDMI switch I had bought off an auction site!! - For the OPPO remote, it couldn't find the OSD button in its database. No problem - teaching in the command from the OPPO remote was a breeze. Perfect remote to start out with when trying out a universal remote.
Cons: This is the only gripe that stops me from giving this 5 stars: the programmable soft keys next to the LCD screen are too small. If you're using these consistently (like Skip Fwd or Back on the satellite DVR), then it becomes uncomfortable pretty quickly. I wish they were not this skinny.
Overall Review: I got mine for $59 when it was on sale here. For that price, its impossible to not try this out as a starter universal remote!! So far I'm very satisfied with the technology.
this card stinks!
Pros: the price was the reason i bought this
Cons: what the other reviewers are writing is true - this card is HIGHLY susceptible to errors. just about every 10th file i put on it is either unreadable, or unerasable. i've had to format the card three times already. NOT worth the low price.
Bought for Vista upgrade
Pros: The ordering process from Newegg is excellent as usual. I bought this mainly for the Vista upgrade.
Cons: We'll have to wait and see if this whole deal is really a "con."
Overall Review: The upgrade process went fine. The website was a little slow, but everyone is experiencing that. I used the Newegg SO number for the serial number. After the process is over, the printout says that you can either mail, fax or email the redemption coupon. I have done all three. It may be overkill...
