Works Well

SiliconDust HDHomeRun Dual HDHR3-US HD Digital Network Attached TV Tuner Device
SiliconDust HDHomeRun Dual HDHR3-US HD Digital Network Attached TV Tuner Device

Pros: Used with a W8 Pro build with the free WMC that was offered by MS. Works very well and was easy to set up. Recording two shows at once is just what I wanted. Set up had one glitch, see Other thoughts. Tuners are a bit better than my tv's tuner.

Cons: None for me

Overall Review: WMC wouldn't recognize the tuner. Checking the website I learned that some codecs will cause problems. My Windows Media Player was ok, but then I remembered I have GOM Player installed and the conflict was with msaud32_divx. I think the extension was acm, but I renamed the extension to .old which solved the problem. It is located in System32. Yes, it is a 32 bit system, you're file and folder will probably be different. I still use some rather old programs like, MS Office 2000, that I can still use on Win 8.

Nice while it worked

Rosewill RC-405X 10/100Mbps 5-Port Fast Ethernet Switch
Rosewill RC-405X 10/100Mbps 5-Port Fast Ethernet Switch

Pros: My router/modem only had one port and this allowed me to set up a network with a second computer and two other devices. Worked well for a while.

Cons: Suddenly stopped allowing second computer to get internet access, then two hours later main computer lost internet access. Was 9 months after I got it.

Overall Review: Spent two hours trying to find the problem checking software and changing cables. When the main computer lost it's connection I finally plugged the cable directly into the modem one at a time and then the connection was fine. Hooked up a spare modem/router with four ports and all in fine. Considering less than $10 delivered, I don't think I can complain too much.

Decent case.

Zalman T8 ATX Mid-Tower Gaming PC Case, Spectrum RGB Lighting Strip, Support 5.25 ODD Drive, 120mm Rear Fan Preinstalled, USB 3.0, Compact ATX / mATX Gaming Chassis, Black

Pros: Like the top i/o ports. Light weight, but still sturdy enough. Takes an ATX motherboard.

Cons: The screw slots for the 5 1/4" drive bay seem to be off a tiny bit as the screw holes on my dvd drive were up against the top of the slots, but I did get them in. There is a triangle gusset plate that the power supply partially sits on that did not seem to be level. The power supply rocked on that plate and it was a bit of a chore to get all the screws in. Could of used 1 more motherboard standoff. Due to the design of the front of the case, the dvd drive sticks out more on one side than the other, or I guess I could push it in farther and have it recessed on one side. There are a few sharp edges in spots, but haven't worked on a case that didn't have some.

Overall Review: Everything is a tight fit, but that would be expected for a compact case. It is the type of case I wanted, just took a bit more time to get things mounted than expected. Then it always took me more time than expected with a full tower case. Overall, I would still recommend this case considering the price.

It does work

ORICO M.2 NVMe SSD Enclosure, USB 3.1 Gen 2 (10 Gbps) to NVMe PCI-E M.2 SSD Case Support UASP for NVMe SSD Size 2230/2242/2260/2280(up to 4TB)

Pros: Only used it twice so far, and it works as you would expect it to. Did not have any overheating problems.

Cons: The silicone plug used to hold down the m.2 card can be a pain to install (as was mentioned in another review). Would have preferred a screw for that task.

Overall Review: Not something I will be using every day, but it will work for those occasions when I need it.

ASRock B550 Phantom Gaming 4 is fine for what I need.

Pros: Has a PCI Express 4.0 x16 slot and M.2 PCI Express module up to Gen4x4 that will work with a Matisse cpu.Came with ver. 1.10 bios, although latest bios is ver. 1.80, but the Ryzen 5 3600 6-core cpu worked with no problems.Thought I would have to change some bios settings to have PCIE ssd on Hyper M.2 Socket (M2_1) to have Windows installed on it and be bootable, but didn't have to. I did install the system before adding another hard disk.Surprised that when running a program or sitting idle, the computer (not counting the monitor) uses 30 watts less than my 8 1/2 year old Asrock board with an FX4100 2 core cpu.Using an older Antec 380 watt power supply with only 1 4 pin cpu power connector, plugged in to the right side of the 8 pin connector per Asrock manual instructions, which works well, I assume because the Ryzen 5 3600 6-core is just a 65 watt cpu.

Cons: Not so much a con as my not being up on latest in tech news, but when I saw the USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports listed, I thought they must be the latest thing available in USB. Turns out it was just USB 3.0 renamed. Wasn't why I bought the board anyway.

Overall Review: Not a gamer. This board, with the Ryzen 5 3600 6-core cpu and PCIE SSD is fast enough for the work I do on the computer. Windows updates are even a lot faster.

SanDisk SSD Plus 240GB worked as I hoped it would.

Pros: Made the older laptops more of a pleasure to use with the faster boot times. Windows updates also much faster installing.

Cons: None so far.

Overall Review: Already had a USB adapter for the disks, and had Macrium Reflect installed. Just used Disc Management to initialize the disk, then Reflect to clone it. This was the third one I installed in six year old laptops, one for me, and two for family members, and it made quite a difference from the original spinning drives.
