Died after 2 weeks, once I'd tossed out the box

Pros: Powerful system, could've been a great laptop.

Cons: Persistent drive errors which could not be resolved. System repeatedly resetting itself to a former state so no software fix worked. Awful customer service from both Newegg and Asus.

Overall Review: This laptop looked like it was going to work great, so I foolishly threw out the packaging. Then after a couple weeks, I start getting a drive error message (and a suggestion for windows to attempt to repair it on reboot) but also a reboot behavior in which the computer would always reset to a backup state on every reboot, so no progress could be made. It was like Groundhog's Day trying to fix this thing. Spent hours on phone, email, and support chat with both Asus and Newegg, who both insist the other is responsible for replacing the laptop. Eventually got assurance from Newegg that they could replace it even without the original packaging, and then once I'd shipped it to them, changed their minds and said they couldn't replace it without the original packaging, and pushed me back over to Asus. I thought of Asus as one of the better manufacturers, and Newegg as a reasonably safe online store, and now I know to avoid both. Awful experience on all sides, really a nightmare purchase.
