Surprisingly Nice Bargain Case
Pros: 1. Nice solid steel, quite solidly built. No sharp edges on the inside that I found. Comes with thumb screws for holding on both sides. 2. Better cable management than the most cases in this price range. Enough room to put the cables behind the motherboard tray. With the PSU being bottom mounted, all but the four pin MB cable could run completely underneath until you put them through the cutouts on the motherboard tray for the final 2-4". 3. Large CPU cutout on the motherboard tray. Easy access from the back if mounting a large cooler and you have to add a back plate, no matter how large. 4. Has three mounts - two on top, one on the side above the video card, with dual mounting holes for 140mm OR 120mm fans, plus mounts two 120mm fans in front . Comes with a rear mounted 120mm case fan. Finally something to use the Newegg 140mm Cooler Master fans with the rebates. If you run them at 5 volts they are virtually silent.
Cons: 1. No exterior 3.5" bays. This is because there are two 120mm front fan mounts, and the 5.25" bays start at the top of the fan grills. Vaguely irritating when you have 3.5" card readers. If the card reader does not have 5.25" face plate adapter you will to cut out a space from a 5.25" cover to fit a 3.5" card reader face plate, and then use an adapter to mount it. 2. No 2.5" bays built in, but Newegg periodically has them on sale and for an SSD (versus a laptop drive) good quality velcro works very nicely.
Overall Review: Nice touch: The case front is slightly asymmetric, tapering to the side with the front USB and sound plugs. This means you don't have to try to reach under the overhang. If this is on the floor by your computer desk, trust me it's a nice touch. It doesn't jump out at you, it's only a couple of millimeters but it's very convenient. Possible problem due to it's solid construction. The side panel is steel. It does have a 120mm/140mm mount over video cards as mentioned above, but if you want to add one of the monster slow fans there you will have quite a lot of modding. If you want lots of lights and LEDs or a loud, flashy case get something different. If you want a quiet, well-built case for a surprisingly low price, this is for you. Comes with all black bolts if you want to maintain the solid black look.
Pros: Inexpensive, purchased on Newegg special. I have one of the pre-N super-G routers, and the connection is better than any of the super-G USB or PCI adapters I've had. Only had it hang once and it's on 12-16 hours a day. Installation was easy. Software is fairly straightforward no problems with Windows XP.
Cons: Nothing I've noticed.
Overall Review: When I upgrade to N I am hoping for more throughput. Won't give 5 eggs until it's lasted longer and I can compare it to other N devices. Also this is only used for web surfing, so I cannot comment on how well it handles continuous loads like gaming or video streaming.
