Most Favorable Review

Very useful implementation.

ORICO 2.5" Transparent USB 3.0 to SATA 3.0 External Hard Drive Disk Enclosure Box, USB 3.0 High-Speed Case for 2.5" HDD / SSD, Case Support UASP Protocol SATA III Tool Free [Upgrade Version]
ORICO 2.5" Transparent USB 3.0 to SATA 3.0 External Hard Drive Disk Enclosure Box, USB 3.0 High-Speed Case for 2.5" HDD / SSD, Case Support UASP Protocol SATA III Tool Free [Upgrade Version]

Pros: Clear case allows drive id without label on the enclosure...very nice. No tools needed to install or remove drive. USB speed limited by the HDDs, saw as high as 105 MB/s with a Seagate SSHD...an SSD might reveal an even higher speed. The cable is long enough but not too long.

Cons: Not really a con, but the case is smooth and so you have to make sure it is on a flat surface so it does not slip off.

Overall Review: I love these things...The USB performance of the enclosure is fine. The clear case is wonderful. I have moved to SSDs in our laptops and have all the original hard drives (going back15 years) available for use as pocket drives. Searching all of them out, I had 2 1TB, 2 640s, 2 500s and 2 120s. With diskpart, I found that I can clean the drives, make an MBR primary partition, format to NTFS and assign a drive letter so that I can load them up with .MP4 files to watch through the USB port on the TV or Blu-Ray player. I ran into problems initially because I had the drives set up as GPT instead of MBR and I thought it was the orico enclosures....it was the disk format that was not being recognized. After getting it all sorted out, I was able to use these on the TV or to just back up pictures and videos using those old drives that were just laying around gathering dust. I found them at a good price, ordered 2 in order to check it out and then ordered 3 more. For the TV, even the ancient 120GB drives are way faster than any of my USB sticks.

Inexpensive thumb drive

Team Group 32GB C186 USB 3.2 Gen 1 Flash Drive (TC186332GB01)
Team Group 32GB C186 USB 3.2 Gen 1 Flash Drive (TC186332GB01)

Pros: It is a good value.

Cons: The thumb drive has no hole for a tag or lanyard so there is no way to label it without tape or something sticky. Usually I just put a string tag on them to allow me to distinguish what is on one of the 30 or more thumb drives I have. I used electrical tape to attach a string tag to this USB thumb drive. I have never had this problem before.

Overall Review: This drive is fine if you get a good buy on it but I will be more aware of the ease of tagging a drive. There is no problem if you have only 1, but this was a three pack.

Nice addition to a Orico 3.5 inch Sata hdd hot swap rack

ORICO 2.5 SSD SATA to 3.5 Hard Drive Adapter Internal Drive Bay Converter Mounting Bracket Caddy Tray for 7 / 9.5 / 12.5mm 2.5 inch HDD / SSD with SATA III Interface(1125SS)
ORICO 2.5 SSD SATA to 3.5 Hard Drive Adapter Internal Drive Bay Converter Mounting Bracket Caddy Tray for 7 / 9.5 / 12.5mm 2.5 inch HDD / SSD with SATA III Interface(1125SS)

Pros: Allows using a 2.5 inch drive in a trayless hot swap rack designed for 3.5 in HDD drives. I was not using this rack to mount a 2.5 inch drive bay, but using it to let me use a 2.5" drive in a 3.5" hot swap rack.

Cons: none I know of. I use metal trays to mount SSDs in a 3.5" drive bay if there is no 2.5 drive bay.

Overall Review: I bought 2 of these to allow use of old 2.5 inch HDDs from laptops in Orico 1106SS '5.25 inch to 3.5 inch Sata HDD Hot Swap Rack'. I put the hot swap racks in 3 different different desktops, intending to use them as a place to back up to. I had run into problems trying to use diskmanager to work on old 2.5 inch HDDs that had been boot drives and had protected restore partitions. I was using a usb adapter and could not delete the old partitions through the usb adapter. These were inexpensive and let me accomplish what I needed to do (I already had the trayless 3.5 drive hot swap racks) and also allowed me to use old 2.5" drives as a backup destination.

perfect for my need

Wavlink 4 Ports USB 3.0 Hub with LED Indicator High Speed USB 3.0 4 Port Hub Splitter Up To 5Gbps, Plug and Play, Security&Portable For iMac, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, MacBook, Mac Mini, PC, Laptops
Wavlink 4 Ports USB 3.0 Hub with LED Indicator High Speed USB 3.0 4 Port Hub Splitter Up To 5Gbps, Plug and Play, Security&Portable For iMac, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, MacBook, Mac Mini, PC, Laptops

Pros: I purchased this for connecting thumb drives, a sansa player, and a usb adapter for micro SD chips. There are two USB 3.0 ports on the back of my tower and I needed something to be in easy reach so I bought this small hub. I put it on a USB 3.0 3 foot extension to get it around front of the PC and in easy reach. I notice no speed difference between the extension alone and when using the hub but I did no actual measurements. The little light bar did alert me to the fact that the usb port is still powered when the PC is off...something I did not know.

Cons: The only drawback I see is that the cord is only 9 inches or so and I wish it was 3 feet or a meter so I would not have to use a USB extension cable. It would be perfect for a laptop where you have one usb 3 port.

Overall Review: This is a useful little hub for my needs. It would be perfect for a laptop where you need a few more USB 3.0 ports, but I use it for convenience with a tower where the usb 3 ports are on the back of the case. It has a light that tipped me off that the ports are powered when the pc is off and that it is connected. Handy little item.

Works as advertised

1080P Hidden Camera HD Video Recorder Mini DV DVR Wide Angle Sport Camcorder Smart Voice Recording Audio Stereo Recorder Pen
1080P Hidden Camera HD Video Recorder Mini DV DVR Wide Angle Sport Camcorder Smart Voice Recording Audio Stereo Recorder Pen

Pros: It was very inexpensive and does what it says.

Cons: No big issues. Instructions written by non-English speaker so they are slightly confusing. You have to experiment and then you can understand the instructions. One issue I have is that my breast pocket rides high on my chest so the camera points upward a bit but the lens seems to be perpendicular to the pen so you have to be aware of the pen orientation in your pocket. I did not initially realize that there is a lens cover that slides up an down so my earliest trial only recorded audio....then I discovered you have to slide the lens cover down to expose the lens.

Overall Review: I view it as a novelty and have enjoyed toying with it. I have not tried to watch the video on a TV, only by playing the .avi files in Nero Home. I did not realize how bumpy my stride is until I watched video taken while walking. The video is segmented, I uses the lower resolution so each segment is about 5 minutes long. My experience is limited as I have not tried still photos, hooking it to a TV and so on. It is convenient if you want to record a conversation but if you are in a noisy room it records everything and the volume is controlled automatically so the loud background noise can make conversation hard to hear.

decent value

VisionTek 900951 PITBULL BT Speaker - Gift Box
VisionTek 900951 PITBULL BT Speaker - Gift Box

Pros: It looks and feels well made. The use of a cell phone battery is a nice touch over a non-replaceable battery. Strong audio volume. Bluetooth works fine and the micro SD card (32gb or less) works well.

Cons: The micro SD card must be loaded elsewhere. Your only control is to skip to the next or previous mp3 or to pause. If you turn it off, you start back up at the beginning mp3. The line in uses the cable that connects through the USB charging port. The instructions are poor, I initially thought line in and the micro SD card did not work, but I thought the line in input was the headphone jack (it is headphone only) and I used a 64gb micro-SD because I had one. When I tried the smaller capacity card, it worked just fine. So you have to figure this out yourself.

Overall Review: I bought this to use with a small mp3 player instead of the headphone. After I figured it out...you have to use the provided cable that connects to the usb port to use the line in, I found that my sansa clip+ earphone output is lacking in drive but the RockDoc has sufficient audio volume to make up for it. The audio from micro SD and Bluetooth is strong. The micro SD option is interesting but a high capacity card is wasted because you have to click through the mp3s one at a time. If you have 200 albums loaded it is difficult to get to a particular one, a bunch of small capacity, inexpensive micro SDs (labeled somehow) with just a small number of mp3 is much more workable. I have been using it every day, putting a daily podcast on a micro SD card through a usb adapter and then putting the card into the RockDoc. I can take it around with me while I am getting ready and then go to the car without any interruption.

Just the ticket

I have a couple of Wavlink items, the 4 port super speed 3.0 USB hub was the latest. It is as advertised and is perfect for my need. This is a third party seller review and is not about the product ... I have no hesitation in recommending Wavlink.

The tracking was not updated very well, but the discs were ordered on the 20th and the package arrived on the 24th. I did not know it had shipped but I was quite happy that it came within a week. I have already used more than half of a 50 pack of the PlexDisc DVD-r discs without any bad disks.

I have no qualms about ordering from Cablecc again. I'm happy with the usb docks and they were delivered in a reasonable amount of time for such a long journey.
