FreeNAS

HighPoint RocketRAID 2640X4 SGL PCI-Express x4 SATA / SAS Controller Card
HighPoint RocketRAID 2640X4 SGL PCI-Express x4 SATA / SAS Controller Card

Pros: 4 SATA ports. See my 2TB Drives.

Cons: FreeNAS does not have the drivers compiled into the kernel for this card there for if you are running a embedded version of FreeNAS it is a PITA to try and get the driver that came with the disc to load and even if you load it manually it doesn't seem to see the drives. I still give the card 5 stars as you get what you pay for and it is not HighPoint's fault that FreeNAS doesn't have the driver compiled into the Kernel

Overall Review: The card did see my drives but I wanted to run a software RAIDz, not a hardware raid.

They need to come up with something better

Ergotron 33-296-195 LX Triple/Dual Display Lift Stand
Ergotron 33-296-195 LX Triple/Dual Display Lift Stand

Pros: Adjustable vertically (whole bracket), adjustable tensioners, semi heavy duty, stands pretty darn tall

Cons: Plastic clamps from Vesa mount to crossbar. Doesn't tilt down far enough.

Overall Review: Which trying to adjust my monitors to tilt down one of my clamps to the bar that reaches from left to right broke and dropped my monitor on my desk. Fortunately I caught my monitor and didn't break it but seriously? Plastic clamps? If you use this thing I HIGHLY recommend cross zip tying the clamps to help hold them on the bar and to avoid breaking the clamps.

Problematic!

M4-ATX-HV 250W Intelligent DC DC PSU Power Supply Unit 6-34V Input
M4-ATX-HV 250W Intelligent DC DC PSU Power Supply Unit 6-34V Input

Pros: -Can be powered from a 12v source. -Takes a wide input, 6-30v DC

Cons: -Has problems! -May cause system lockups!

Overall Review: I love the fact that this offers users a way to run a energy efficient device directly from a DC power source like a battery. Some will wonder, "Why would you want to do that?". Well, if you are off grid, or in a power down situation, or you want a emergency computer for some situation, such as Ham radio emergency communications, well, this offers you the ability to run your little computer directly from a 12v battery, no inverters or converters necessary! Also, because a computer as already DC powered, this is technically more efficient than a AC to DC power supply and if you have a connected battery, well, no special battery backup needed! The battery is already in line! Anyhow, I have had 3 of these on my bench thus far. The first one I figured was used and someone was offloading their junk. The second was from here, and I figured I got another junk one, so I ordered one from the manufacturer and it worked for a time and then it stopped working once the load exceeded roughly about 70W or so. Basically, you will get POST (Power On Self Test) and then once the operating system starts to load something happens and the power supply causes a system lockup. Keep in mind that my system can not exceed 150W and this power supply, according to the manufacturer is a 220W, 250W peak PS, so I can not exceed 68% of its supposed capabilities.. So, would I or can I recommend this power supply? No! It has problems! Go find a different DC to DC power supply, this might work for a moment but it will stop working!

PHANTEKS Glacier G2070 Strix PH-GB2070AS_BK01 RGB ASUS Strix GPU Full Water Block for the latest Asus RTX 2070/2060 Strix cards - Satin Black
PHANTEKS Glacier G2070 Strix PH-GB2070AS_BK01 RGB ASUS Strix GPU Full Water Block for the latest Asus RTX 2070/2060 Strix cards - Satin Black

Pros: Keeps the GPU nice and cool. 28C idle 48C max that I've EVER seen typically about 38C with normal heavy usage, at least in my case

Cons: Bends the card a small bit near the power connectors Caused a short that kept the card from working. I had to put tape in place to keep it from shorting

Overall Review: I like the water block. It works, it works well as long as you are able to pay attention to what you're doing. I used it on my ASUS ROG STRIX GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER

It works but only 1 LED and it's out

Vantec 2.5" / 3.5" / 5.25" SATA / IDE to USB 2.0 Adapter - Model CB-ISATAU2
Vantec 2.5" / 3.5" / 5.25" SATA / IDE to USB 2.0 Adapter - Model CB-ISATAU2

Pros: Works as it should, is USB2.0

Cons: Only 1 LED which turns off with activity and the LED on mine failed so now it no longer has any LEDs. The LED is red and personally I don't like red but none the less a link LED and a activity LED that turns on with activity is much more preferred.

Works

SPARKLE GeForce 9500 GT 512MB DDR2 PCI Low Profile Ready Graphics Card SP95GT512D2L-HP
SPARKLE GeForce 9500 GT 512MB DDR2 PCI Low Profile Ready Graphics Card SP95GT512D2L-HP

Pros: 3D rendering, runs cool

Cons: none so far as you can't expect much for a PCI video card

Overall Review: Bought this for my linux box as it is a old server board running dual Xeon 3.2Ghz CPUs. The card does as well as expected and allows 3D rendering but being a PCI card I wouldn't expect great frame rates for gaming from this card.
