Good Fan
Pros: Does what it is meant to do well.
Cons: None from performance standpoint (Took an egg off for unexpected blue LED lights).
Overall Review: The product description did not mention the Blue LED lights and it does not go too well with my color scheme. It would also be nice of G.Skill to come out with variation of colors with LED colors mentioned (Red, Blue, Green, etc). Or have a switch for a LED.
It weighs you.
Pros: Works fine right out of the box. Price is good (cheap)
Cons: Despite all the bad reviews, my unit worked properly since arrival, until now (1 month owned).
Recommanded
Pros: - very quiet fans, both high and low settings will be quite. close to inaudible. - smaller than other fan plate designs. - good design. - can either place it behind the laptop, or put back of the laptop on top of the fan to let airflow beneath the laptop (black form pads on fan is for this reason) depending on the design of the air intake system in laptops.
Cons: - while USB plug design is allowing for another to be plugged on top, it seems bit fragile. Prefer solid connector. - Blue LED light on the back of the fan (to indicate power, I suppose) cannot be turned off. I have gotten complaints from people sitting across from me that it's shining into their face. Also has little aesthetic use for me since I am not looking behind my laptop at any time.
Overall Review: overall, smaller than other fans, aesthetically pleasing. I've put a tape to block the LED light on the backside of the fan. Keeps my laptop cool even at low fan setting.
good enough for casual users
Pros: Keeps the computer running cooler than usual, while excuting highly demanding processes (graphical) for first 3-5 hours.
Cons: Once the computer is heated up, and the pad turns completely liquid, it has much less capacity to dissipate the heat. Past 4-5 hours of heavy graphic processes, it loses its ability to transfer heat out of the laptop by significant amount. (yet still better than not having it).
Overall Review: It'll be good for casual computer users. For movie watchers or gamers who use their laptop for more than 4 hours at a time, a fan type cooler is recommanded.
