Works fine in a CF-to-IDE adapter
Pros: Replaced an aging hard drive in a piece of industrial equipment with this CF card (and one of the CF-to-IDE adapters). Boots and works like a charm.
Cons: None
Pros: Fits in the laptop. Is that even a benefit, if the drive doesn't work reliably?
Cons: NewEgg return policy. In IBM / Lenovo ThinkPad X60 and X61 (945/965GM chipset) drives scrambles partition after 1 or 2 reboots. (Is no longer active and is "RAW") Similar issues when connecting via SATA-USB adapter. (Tried 3 different model adapters that all work fine with other mechanical and SSD drives) MANY similar complaints on mfg'r forum. No reasonable response from tech support.
NOT 40", not even 39" - really 38.5"
Pros: This shouldn't be advertised as "40" Class", at best it should be "39" Class". Every other brand calls there 38.5" LCDs "39" Class"
Cons: This shouldn't be advertised as "40" Class", at best it should be "39" Class". Every other brand calls there 38.5" LCDs "39" Class"
Barely qualifies for "N" naming
Pros: Recently reviewed by Maximum PC.
Cons: Is basically a "G" Router with a "N" label stuck on it.
Overall Review: Maximum PC's review: Linksys advertises this router with the tagline “Step up to the speed of Wireless-N!” Read the data sheet, however, and you’ll find this: “Complies with 802.11g, and 802.11b standards, and [is] compatible with -some- 802.11n features” (emphasis ours). The 802.11n standard has achieved sufficient brand recognition that many consumers won’t look past the N in the product’s name, and they’ll fail to notice that the Wi-Fi Alliance certification logo on the WRT120N’s box extends only to 802.11b/g.
Works.. barely
Pros: Crazy cheap for a brand-name card. Good enough for internet usage. Thats it.
Cons: Connecting to a Linksys G router, link speed often drops down to 12... never sticks at 54. NONE of my other laptops' wireless adapters EVER drop below 54. I'm 10 feet from the router, no other routers on same channel.
Overall Review: I bought the open box version of this refurb product, knowing from all the bad reviews that the model probably has a design defect. But, it works "good enough" for my girlfriend's kids. I didn't use any of Linksys' cr@ppy software, just the bare driver and XP's wireless manager. I'd recommend the same to everyone.
Pros: Works great!
Cons: No problems seen.
Overall Review: Installed on Intel S5000VSA board w/ two dual-core Xeons.
