Most Favorable Review

Great product, not as beginner friendly as AMD would like, maybe.

XFX Radeon RX 480 8GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 CrossFireX Support Graphics Card RX480M8BFA6
XFX Radeon RX 480 8GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 CrossFireX Support Graphics Card RX480M8BFA6

Pros: It does what AMD said it would do. It will max out most games in 1080p and keep a consistent 60 fps. Some tinkering with the "Wattman" is in order....you can tune this card anyway you want, probably what caused a lot of the noise about heat. I lowered the voltage and upped the clock on mine and it runs right around 40C at idle and 70C in games. A BIOS update would be nice to balance the power draw but it's not really an issue for me. Oh, and the image quality is much more crisp and detailed than my Nvidia cards can produce.

Cons: I wanted the stock cooler but wish it was more efficient. It's not bad and I did want it but I think the partner coolers will make a better unit.

Overall Review: An 8 GB card that maxes out the most common gaming monitors for $200 or so......it's a no brainer.

ASUS 15.6" Intel Core i7-2670QM 8GB Memory DDR3 1333 Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit
ASUS 15.6" Intel Core i7-2670QM 8GB Memory DDR3 1333 Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit

Pros: Fast, runs anything I've thrown at it. It's quiet.

Cons: It came with 8 GB of Samsung DDR3 in two 4 GB Sodimms. After only one month, one of them went bad. Since ram is cheap, I replaced it myself and upped it to 16 GB. In the process I found the machine to be difficult to disassemble and cheaply built. Also, finding ram that is compatible with it is a bit difficult. Once the ram issue was solved the keyboard promptly died, no reason for it, and I've never seen a keyboard just die before, but it did. Contacted ASUS and was told they don't allow purchasers to disassemble "their" machines. So, I bought a new keyboard myself and fixed that, no problem. Then, the already weak wifi card died. So, one more disassembly and I replaced that with an Intel card, which is much better. Now everything works fine but I'm just waiting for the power jack to break, at which time this unit goes in the trash.

Overall Review: The connectors are mostly in the wrong place if you are going to use a mouse with it while charging or using HDMI.

Pros: I needed an optical drive that was inexpensive, worked well, and, most importantly, UEFI compatible. I don't use an optical drive much anymore but the one I had would hold up the boot time by minutes now and then and I just got tired of it. This ASUS works just fine and in quiet.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: Would buy it again, sure.

No muss, no fuss. Just does what it's supposed to.

G.SKILL TridentZ Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 3400 (PC4 27200) Desktop Memory Model F4-3400C16D-16GTZ
G.SKILL TridentZ Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 3400 (PC4 27200) Desktop Memory Model F4-3400C16D-16GTZ

Pros: Nice looking package, no fins, leds or any of that, just nice looking heat spreaders and good RAM. Once the timings and voltage are entered in the bios, it hits 3400 and stays there, nice and stable. With a Z170 board the OC speed does help performance in some ways and it does show in benchmarks. I haven't pushed it farther but, really have no need to.

Cons: None. I am sold on G.Skill quality. Their ratings are spot on.

Overall Review: I would say, buy it without hesitation.

Better than I expected.

ZALMAN CNPS9500 AT 2 Ball CPU Cooling Fan/Heatsink
ZALMAN CNPS9500 AT 2 Ball CPU Cooling Fan/Heatsink

Pros: I bought this to replace an AIO water cooler that had gummed up and stopped working. To my surprise, this Zalman cools better than the AIO did when it was new.

Cons: Lots of small parts that get lost easily....installation is a bit of a challenge.

Overall Review: I'd recommend this cooler to anyone with an LGA 1155 or so that still works well but need better cooling.

OK product for 2 years or so.

Thermaltake WATER2.0 Performer Closed-Loop All In One Liquid CPU Cooler Dual 120mm PWM Fans 120x25mm CLW0215
Thermaltake WATER2.0 Performer Closed-Loop All In One Liquid CPU Cooler Dual 120mm PWM Fans 120x25mm CLW0215

Pros: It did cool well in the beginning, not really better that the stock air cooler but it was more quiet.

Cons: After 2 years it got less and less efficient till at 3 years it finally just stopped cooling. Since it's off warranty I took it apart and found very little liquid but many many gummy chunks of sediment that were plugging it up. Whatever coolant is used in it evaporates out somehow and leaves residue.

Overall Review: I'll never trust an AIO water cooler again.
