Better than Onboard

Creative 70SB073A00000 7.1 Channels 24-bit 96KHz PCI Interface Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer
Creative 70SB073A00000 7.1 Channels 24-bit 96KHz PCI Interface Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer

Pros: Great way to get your hands on an X-Fi chip on the cheap. Supports up to 7.1 and has Optical I/O. Really changes your music listening experience. Gave me 15%+ frames back from the windows audio stack in some games (TF2, COD4).

Cons: Truthfully, I have a hard time finding a difference in games. Even well using some very high quality Creative in ear headphones, COD4 and Crysis sound exactly the same. I was upgrading from onboard HDA audio so I expected some crazy sort of jump in quality. That didn't really happen.

Overall Review: Worth the cost simply for the performance boost, but don't expect to have your mind shattered by ear bleeding sound quality. Don't buy it if you already have a sound card. Dual Core [email protected] 4gb OCZ DDR2 800 BFG 8800GTS OC2

... it's useible, if you have 3 hands

Microsoft XBOX 360 Wireless Headset
Microsoft XBOX 360 Wireless Headset

Pros: As all wireless headsets do, it eliminates the hassle of having a cable draping from your neck. Long Battery life and looks pretty good.

Cons: Fits very lose on my ear. Its very frustrating to get it connected some times, it likes to believe that it gets a slot on the Ring of lite all to its self, so its tough to match it to the controller. The biggest problem is it's unbelievably sensitive, if you have anything generating noise in the room your using it in, it will pick it up. The intercooler on my 360 has to be shut down or people complain about interference in my voice. Also this causes the mic to distort your voice since it adjusts to try to pick up the other source of noise besides you. This problem occurs when you have your Volume up too high as well(or normal, even then).

Overall Review: It's probably allot less likely to brake then the standard headset, but its just not worth it in the long run. Especially since you can buy 3 of those for the price of one of these. You may just cause more damage to something else in a fit of rage after the headset gets board of working properly and fails to connect for about an hour(speaking from Experience) then it would have cost you to buy those 3 standard headsets. The reason i say you need three hands is because i need to keep one on the mute button at all times so that the static doesn't drive my teammate crazy well im not talking. On and off and on and off...

Powerful, Portable, Durable. No compromises here

SONY VAIO 13.3" Intel Core i5-3210M 6GB Memory Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit
SONY VAIO 13.3" Intel Core i5-3210M 6GB Memory Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit

Pros: Hardware wise, its very fast. More than enough RAM to remain snappy with a few programs running. CPU is plenty, i5 is more than enough for this system. Nvidia optimums is a blessing, allows 6 hour battery life on the intel hardware and rather powerful graphics on the Nvidia card. Screen is freaking amazing. Physical design: Its small, it weighs just enough to give it a strong feel, but still not a burden. Carbon fiber build is wonderful. Very tight build, its the primary reason I chose this laptop. It just feels good. Usability; Screen is awesome, resolution is very good and colors are true. Touch pad is on the massive side, but I like it that way. Keyboard is responsive and well spaced, and the back light is very good. Fingerprint scanner is out of the way and WORKS, amazingly. I use it exclusively. Battery life is exceptional. Normal use with low back brightness. will render something like 6 hours.

Cons: One major con is that the laptop lid is VERY prone to scratches and scuffs. Mine is covered in scuff marks from putting it in my backpack with out a sleeve. Its really annoying, but completely avoidable. Get a sleeve. Also the screen frame feels a little weak, but so long as you don't abuse it, it should be fine. It is very light weight so for how weak it feels, its not holding up much. Touchpad is huge to a point of getting in the way. I had to adjust the way my hands sit on the keyboard to avoid hitting it while I type. Not the end of the world, but its annoying.

Overall Review: All in all I am very happy with this laptop. Its sufficient to be a mobile workstation. It is durable, which was a huge deal to me. All in all, good buy. Plays games reasonably well, I can just skate by playing Borderlands 2 and it handles League of Legends with no issue what so ever.

Bad move

Rosewill RCW-H9030 Stereo Adapters 4-in-1
Rosewill RCW-H9030 Stereo Adapters 4-in-1

Pros: I'm sure they work, but I got the wrong set.

Cons: However, even if they had the adapter I needed, I would still rate it 2 eggs. Why? Because the male end of each adapter is crooked. To much use and they look bound to snap off.

Overall Review: Find something else.

Technical mess

Empire: Total War PC Game
Empire: Total War PC Game

Pros: The game is great

Cons: when you can play it.

Overall Review: Video Ram overflow, Memory leaks, you name it. The game even CTD's over audio glitches. Plenty of patches have been released, none of which have fixed the problems. This game must have never been play tested, because I don't know how they could have released it in this state. I made it to 1760 (60% through a grand campaign) and now it is unplayable.

A win for Creative

Creative Inspire T3100 2.1 2-way Speakers
Creative Inspire T3100 2.1 2-way Speakers

Pros: For this price, this system is King. Very strong base, Excellent range, crisp, and minimal distortion at high volume.

Cons: They keep falling off there stands, but only when other people move them around the desk. Performance wise none.

Overall Review: If for Games, Music, or just regular desktop activities, you cant go wrong with these speakers. Pair them with one of Creatives X-fi Sound cards and your really rocking.
