Pros: When they work they are very reliable.

Cons: Literally the day I got this in the mail, the drive shorted out the exact same chip that burned my old drive of the same model. It heated up so fast that the chip itself desoldered itself from the board and was laying on the bottom of my case smoking.

Overall Review: I had owned a previous version of the same drive when I bought a dell a in 2005, and it died on me last week. Specifically, one of the chips that comminicate from the drive's control arms to the board started smoking and eventually burned the plastic off. I went and looked for the same model and when it arrived that same EXACT chip fried out.
