Great RAM at a great price!
Pros: 4G of RAM at $160 price? Can't go wrong with that! Plenty of room for your OS and apps. Windows is happy (XP only sees 3G!) and Linux loves it.
Cons: None found so far. May not be able to overclock it as much as more expensive ram, but I'm not a speed freak.
Overall Review: Haven't tried any overclocking yet, but not really worried about it. Stock values are working just fine. Using a ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe mobo with a X2 6000+ cpu.
Case works, but design flaws keep it from being awesome.
Pros: - Case works with HP EX950 also purchased from Newegg - Easy assembly, one screw, one cord, plug and go. - Small, light weight, integrated heat sink - Fast speed but not as good as claims are
Cons: - 4 Green LEDs are _blinding_ and completely unnecessary, I need to see if I can cover them with tape. - Case makes creak noises, feels cheap - case gets too hot to touch, burn hazard (partially SSD's fault obviously
Overall Review: If you need the speed, this is a blazing fast case but I wasn't getting 40G transfer rates, that may be theoretical, but 10G was more reality. In the end, the 'cheap' feel and the horribly bright and completely pointless LEDs keep me from recommending this case.
Fast, hot, throttles after about 20 minutes..
Overall Review: 2tb storage is great and the price is reasonable. but backing up 500G of data got it hot very quickly, after about 15 minutes it throttled down, 25 minutes it shut down and disconnected from my system until it cooled off. second attempt i ran slower and with less data, cooling off between sessions. it did throttle but did not shut down. i am running it in an external case. not sure how safe i'd feel it as a boot volume without serious cooling.
works fine, but didn't work for me
Pros: simple installation nothing to turn on, it just works swivel screen can be seen at many angles
Cons: Celsius display only - no Fahrenheit plastic construction - feels cheap threads for shower head attachment are very shallow, was not compatible with 2 handheld showers i tried to use
Overall Review: i like what this product is supposed to do, give you a display of the water temperature. no more too hot or too cold showers. it doesn't display in Fahrenheit but i quickly learned that 40C was my idea shower temp. unfortunately it wasn't compatible with either of the two handheld shower heads that i use, the threads that the shower attaches to were too few and didn't screw in deep enough that i had water squirting back out everywhere. when i finally tried a fixed shower head with a very shallow connector it worked fine. unfortunately i much prefer a handheld shower and was forced to give up using this device. i would recommend this to someone if you're ok with a Celsius display and have a compatible shower head, else it will just end up in a drawer like mine is.
Decent little unit for the price
Pros: Inexpensive (Just under $100 on sale) Small Pretty generic hardware - drivers are commonly available
Cons: 8G memory limit EOL hardware Can't boot from USB!?!?
Overall Review: Loads up Ubuntu 18.04 with no problem, booting from SD card. Could not find any way to boot from USB (jump drive, hard drive, nor CD). Picked this up for a lab server to test builds and software with and it works just fine. BIOS configuration is a bit of a mess, couldn't find decent documentation. Got it working though and am happy with my purchase. Server is running headless so I don't care about the graphics. Might pick up a second one to cluster with.
good wireless controller
Pros: freedom to put my desktop anywhere i want decent price comes with external antenna base
Cons: cord on extension base is too short bright red metal design (stands out like a sore thumb in my all-black system) clunky 3rd party utilities (optional)
Overall Review: if you need high-speed wireless this is a good card. no issues connecting with my base station a few rooms away, getting decent speed and no lag. do wish the extension cords were longer, 6' or so. the 3rd party utilities are nothing to look at (really small window and text) but fortunately they are optional, just install the driver only and use windows management.
