Pros: Living a 100 miles from DFW's antenna farm on Cedar Hill and receiving OTA HDTV with a rooftop antenna, the HVR-1800 receiver sensitivity is far superior to the ATI Theater 650 using the same PC. I'm running XP64 and the included software runs fine using a NF680i in PCI-e 1x slot. It also works in the 8x slots. HVR-1800 is supported by $ware BeyondTV/Sage and GPL Medial Portal and GBPVR so the OEM software is not a show stopper. BTW, Both Hauppauge and ATI refer to BeyondTV so it's implied that you should strongly consider add on PVR software. IMHO, Media Portal/GBPVR are worth a try BEFORE buying $ware.

Cons: The hardware decoder runs hot [component side upper right corner] so I epoxied on a Termaltake heatsink [put electrical tape on adjoining PCB backside to avoid a short circuit, and use Arctic Silver epoxy not that cheapo doublesided tape] which lowered the temperature considerably. I would recommend that you consider a HI-CFM side cover fan, my Xclio A380 has one already and keeps the 8800GTX & HVR-1800 cool. My 40 years of experience has shown that electronics like the same temperatures as we do!

Overall Review: The IR Blaster is a great addition for timeshifting if you use a satellite/cable box. Hauppauge updates their software frequently so there WinTV software may improve in the future, it isn't bad just average like all OEM apps. Avoid using FedEx Ground in the country, it's contracted out so the drivers don't have regular route experience and cows & horses don't give directions, drivers are not FedEX employees. UPS Ground and Newegg never miss a delivery, both 5 egg companies.

Pros: Very comfortable keyboard but the reliability is a disaster. If you type in a "lab clean-room" this keyboard would be great so if that's your situation stop reading, for the rest of you who need an everyday keyboard in your home of workplace read on:

Cons: This my 4th failed egro 4000 keyboard (some folks like me really like these keyboards). First two failed after the original 1 year warranty expired. MS now gives a 3 years on this keyboard. I bet they have a boatload of RMA's too. As a retired computer technician I attempted to repair one. Big mistake the encoder PCB has one of those LCD watch type epoxied to the board chips. I would guess its a low power CMOS which is very susceptible to failure. As other review indicate I made a extra effort not to get any liquid on this keyboard, yet it failed anyway. My system is protected via a whole house surge protector then a 1400VA UPS w/surge protection so power problems are highly unlikely. I would strongly suggest if you want a reliable keyboard not to select this model. I have several other MS keyboards, comfort curve 2000 natural ergo elite are very reliable yet lack the negative tilt and features this keyboard has. It's great while it works but don't depend on it to work.

Overall Review: Usually the electronics outlasts the mechanical parts, with sticking keys or no-working contacts. This not the case with this keyboard so far (4) it's always been the encoder chip failure. Microsoft needs to re-engineer this keyboard's electronics PCB and replace this hi-failure rate microchip pronto!

Pros: Be aware firmware updates take a very long time! The unit will not give an indication that a firmware update is in progress or completed successfully. I would suggest allowing an hour for it to complete. You need to power cycle the unit after the update. Then spend another hour completing all the setups. My unit had a default video setting for PAL so I would check that first. You'll need to push the return key to get back to the main menu. Their are two selections on the firmware update if your HDD has files select the one that ONLY update firmware otherwise all your files will be erased! I would suggest using a USB stick for firmware updates www. argosyusa.com. You can also add files this way or get a WiFi dongle but make sure it's controller meets the specs in the user guide on the CD. I would also recommend turning the unit off after use the HDD gets rather warm even with the micro fan. Just be patient and the unit should work fine a

Cons: This unit does not have a ATSC tuner so you'll need a video source to record from, cable, satellite, ATSC tuner box. So you can't do multi-channel recording without changing the video source. You can add an additional external HDD i.e. docking station or go WiFi. I guess the best way to sum it up is this is not a DVR/PVR in the true meaning. Your PC/PVR hardware does this much better.

Overall Review: I would suggest using an old 200GB HDD in this unit and updating via external HDD or Wifi. The picture quality is 1080p and looks great with MPEG4 or other compressed formats. I docked it one star for the hope and pray this works firmware update with no feedback.

Pros: Hey do you run you vehicle at 100%? Most OEM's do their ratings in 'ideal conditions', which your PC isn't. I have burned 3 DVD's at once at 8x without any coasters. These DVD's are a great bang-for-the-buck especially with free shipping considering their weight.

Cons: None your getting your monies worth stop complaining and spend more $$$$ for 'better DVD's'.

Overall Review: Stop comparing a Yarus to a Ferrari in speed performance instead of mpg.

Pros: There Sennheiser and that's a quality name. They sound like a concert hall even on a MP3 player. You won't be disappointed with these headphones, and when someone says their nerdly looking let them listen then grab them back!

Cons: The cord reel supplied is too big and a rubber band does the job in short order, but better long cord than too short.

Overall Review: Too tight; get hair dryer and heat heat band while constantly moving blower till plastic is pliable then put them on and let cool. You might have to tweak the headband to get a snug comfortable fit. Option 2 spend a $100 on the pro model.
