Nice Power Supply

CORSAIR HX Series CMPSU-520HX 520 W ATX12V v2.2 and EPS12V 2.91 SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Modular Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply
CORSAIR HX Series CMPSU-520HX 520 W ATX12V v2.2 and EPS12V 2.91 SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Modular Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply

Pros: Nice build quality, quiet fan, modular cabling, nice looking paint scheme. Good 480 watt power rating on the 12v rails combined. Appears to be of manufactured by Seasonic, one of the best in the business.

Cons: Be aware that this unit comes with only qty 2 modular dual SATA power cables, it is easy to miss this. Corsair should have used qty 3 if not 4 as a minimum. What happens when you need to hook up qty 3 hard disk drives and a couple SATA DVD burners? The molex connectors do not do me any good here. I don't see anywhere on Corsair's web site or at Newegg where I can order extra modular cables for this Power Supply.

Average Motherboard

ASUS P5B-E LGA 775 Intel P965 Express ATX Intel Motherboard
ASUS P5B-E LGA 775 Intel P965 Express ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: The ASUS P5B-E v1.01 motherboard with BIOS v0706(Nov 15, 2006) was stable from stock to mild overclock (FSB 333, 2.6GHz) using Core2 Duo E6400 and Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400C4 DDR800 Memory with stock cooler. SATAe connector in rear could be handy for additional external storage or backup. ASUS Q-Connector is a real nice feature for simplifying connecting those front panel USB, Firewire and audio ports. The right-angle SATA cables that came with the motherboard are a good idea.

Cons: The placement of the IDE connector just below the six SATA connectors could not be worse. I noticed that the ASUS P5B-E Plus which seems to be not for sale in the US has this IDE connector in a better location. I did not personally care for how this AMI BIOS menu is laid out. ASUS did not do a great job explaining the settings in this BIOS. The ASUS AI Overclocking Utility didn't seem to work very well, so I went back to the usual manual BIOS changes instead. The Intel P965 Northbridge heatsink does get warm even at standard clock and very warm during overclock, so a additional Northbridge fan might be in order. ASUS please go to another motherboard color please. Black would be good. The ADI SoundMax onboard audio was noisy when system is at idle. You can hear a pulsing from interference especially when the volume is up, so time for extra sound card.

Overall Review: This is average motherboard with some nice features for the price which should be better considering it is made by ASUS. Nice Little Laser

SAMSUNG ML Series ML-2571N/XAA Workgroup Up to 25 ppm Monochrome Laser Printer
SAMSUNG ML Series ML-2571N/XAA Workgroup Up to 25 ppm Monochrome Laser Printer

Pros: Price, Quality seemed good, Printer text output looked very good, prints fast compared to my older laser printer.

Cons: To me it seemed noisy during printing more so than most units but goes into sleep/power saving mode quickly after print job is finished.

Overall Review: Purchased for my niece for use at college. First time purchase of a Samsung laser printer.

Very Good Case for the Money

Cooler Master Centurion 532 RC-532-SKN1 Black Aluminum bezel, SECC chassis ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
Cooler Master Centurion 532 RC-532-SKN1 Black Aluminum bezel, SECC chassis ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: This is a very good inexpensive computer case for floor mount application. The On-Off button, reset button, USB, Firewire and Audio connectors are located at the top of the case and all work properly. The internal front panel connector wires were easy to work with and attached to my ASUS P5B-E motherboard without issue.

Cons: 120 mm rear fan not included. I purchased a Scythe S-FLEX SFF21F 120mm Case Fan which was an excellent choice. The 120mm front fan has blue LED if that is what you like which you can see through the black front mesh bezel. I did not care for the how the hard drive rails attached to the hard drives with threadless metal "pop-in's" instead of using actual metal screws.

Overall Review: A real nice case but I still prefer the COOLER MASTER Centurion 5 CAC-T05-UW model over this one.

Excellent Case for the Money

Cooler Master Centurion 5 CAC-T05-UW Black Aluminum Bezel , SECC Chassis ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
Cooler Master Centurion 5 CAC-T05-UW Black Aluminum Bezel , SECC Chassis ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Very good quality, Nice looking case, tooless design seems to work well, excellent front USB, Firewire and audio wire harnesses to the motherboard, 120mm fan rear, nice front black wire mesh bezel with air filters. Like the fact I can buy without power supply since I would rather choose a better quality and higher rated power supply anyway. Front fan cools the hard drive very well.

Cons: Would rather have had 120mm fan in the case front instead of the 80mm one since they are quieter.

Overall Review: Hard to beat this case for the money.
