Excellent Ram for Ryzen Builds

CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) Desktop Memory Model CMK32GX4M2B3200C16
CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) Desktop Memory Model CMK32GX4M2B3200C16

Pros: Makes advertised speed and capability* Plays nicely with Ryzen* Clean finish free of gaudy chrome or RGB Kitsch Clean profile (not too high) so it will not get in the way of a large air cooler.

Cons: Not the best price ever.

Overall Review: *I needed to play with bios and (over)clock settings to get that speed. Board was an X-470 and CPU was Ryzen 7-2700x. This is an AMD issue, not a reflection of the product.

Seagate BarraCuda ST2000DM006 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: 1 of my Drives works well at advertised speed, cache, and transfer speed. I like the clean aesthetic and care in the build appearance. Inexpensive

Cons: 1 of 2 drives shipped DOA; Delay in me assembling the computer lost me the window to RMA and I lack the patience to fight through the warranty. Not everyone likes the green color.

Overall Review: Mechanical HDs remain a gamble; I am not sure how much of this unique to Seagate. For this reason I am splitting between the 1 for DOA and the 5 for the one I am using right night now.

Excellent, Well Priced, Reliable RAM

G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) Desktop Memory Model F4-3200C16D-16GVGB

Pros: Excellent Price Fair Volume No issues with compatibility with Ryzen yet

Cons: Uninspiring latency and speed but what it says on the packaging

Overall Review: Very Highly recommend, I have used this exact kits on my last 3 builds aside from differing colors and never had an issue. Yes, there is better performance DDR4 ram out there, but the value and consistency for me has been here.

Good Board, Mediocre Experience*

ASUS TUF B450M-PLUS GAMING AM4 AMD B450 SATA 6Gb/s Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
ASUS TUF B450M-PLUS GAMING AM4 AMD B450 SATA 6Gb/s Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: Board itself is of fair value and clear build quality Proper accessories included Nice aesthetic Fair Price

Cons: *Bios was not updated for 3rd Gen Ryzen prior to shipping so I had to borrow the CPU from my home machine to flash it. This was ordered in December, I really would have like this to have shipped with the current Bios to support 3rd Gen Ryzen whcih was released 2 months earlier. Usual M-ATX complaints (Layout, pins, etc.) A few things like WIFI feel like they were cut to differentiate price points vs similar boards.

Overall Review: Purchased as gift for cousin along with all other components as a machine. Aside from the bios disappointment, no major areas to comment. Wifi would have been nice, but USB Wifi is inexpensive and this has enough ports. Used on budget rig with: Ryzen 3 3200G (Dedicated graphics card will be a future gift!) G.SKILL Ripjaws 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 3200 Cooler Master MasterBox Lite 3.1 TG Micro ATX Tower ADATA Ultimate SU800 512GB SATA-III Internal Solid State Drive CORSAIR CX-M Series CX550M 550W 80 PLUS BRONZE Power Supply Pair of Noctua NF-P12 PWM Fans (120mm, Grey)

Exactly on the Box; Minor quibble on sound

MSI Optix MAG271CQR 27" 2560 x 1440 Resolution 1ms Response 144Hz AMD FreeSync Technology Frameless Design Anti-Flicker Curved Gaming Monitor

Pros: Excellent frame rate, responsiveness and speed. No issues with brightness or contrast with ease in adjustment of settings.

Cons: Audio out functionality may be annoying if you have a speaker system set up to a sound card or mother board as Windows will default to attempt to use the output on the monitor. This occurs even without an output device connected to the monitor. This was fairly irritating and I ultimately disabled it in control panel.

Overall Review: No dead pixels on arrival, will update if any pixels die soon. (Finger crossed.)

Excellent Board*

ASRock Fatal1ty X470 Gaming-ITX/ac AM4 AMD Ryzen 3000 Series CPU Ready Mini ITX AMD Motherboard

Pros: High build quality. Crisp and clean, rather professional black/grey aesthetic free of RGB clutter and kitsch. Excellent Wifi and Bluetooth.

Cons: M.2 on backside, hope you don't need to change it Some of the board feature and connection placement makes it a little painful to connect and use in a small form case. I found I had install and remove my video-card to fit attach some cables during assembly.

Overall Review: Your experiences with bios may vary; I had no issues. Usual Mini ITX issues will apply to any board like this. The crisp and clean professional aesthetic will not appeal to everyone but I love it compared to the more common glowing chrome and cheap plastic that is in vogue right now
