KINGWIN Lazer Platinum Series LZP-550 550 W ATX 12V v2.2 / EPS 12V v2.91 / SSI EPS 12V v2.92 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Pulling 159 Watts at the wall while the Tough Power 650 it replaced was pulling 213 Watts. Have not seen the fan run yet. Idles around 104 Watts as opposed to 152 Watts for the Tough Power 650.

Cons: None so far.

Overall Review: Asrock Extreme 6, 2500K, 8 gig, HyperX SSD, 560 GTX Lower price so I can replace the other power supplies on our network.

Most Critical Review

Such a wide range of Reviews

Foxconn X38A LGA 775 Intel X38 ATX Intel Motherboard
Foxconn X38A LGA 775 Intel X38 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Attractive packaging. It works, but not as advertised or reviewed; at least in my case. Did I mention attractive packaging?

Cons: I fell for the early rave reviews of this product and have recently come to the conclusion that I have wasted my money, at least for now. It is hard to believe the wide range of reviews can be accurate unless quality control at Foxconn is non-existent. I do not need detail the memory and bios issues that my board has as they mimic previous reviews as well as other hardware review sites. This board is the most disappointing hardware purchase I have made.

Overall Review: Foxconn needs to get a reliable bios written asap to save this product. Three new builds last month and every single component was purchased from Newegg. Shipped the next day and arrived three days later. Thank you Newegg.

Update on reliability and Customer Support.

Kingston HyperX SH100S3/120G 2.5" 120GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) (Stand-alone Drive)
Kingston HyperX SH100S3/120G 2.5" 120GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) (Stand-alone Drive)

Pros: Still really fast when it works. 1 still works without a single BSOD. Taught me the importance of imaging the SSD to backup.

Cons: Bought 2 and 1 is dead. Took a week to get Customer Support to answer an RMA request. If they only worked as fast as the HyperX SSD...

Overall Review: After such a sudden total failure, I am now surprised each time the computer boots up. I almost expect it to die at any moment. With a hard drive you often got the click of death or other audible clue before they went to the hard drive afterlife; but no such warning with the SSD.

Way beyond expectations.

Kingston HyperX SH100S3/120G 2.5" 120GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) (Stand-alone Drive)

Pros: Easy install. Silent. Crazy fast! Low power requirements. Makes the hard drive bottle neck a thing of the past. Window 7 Experience Disk 7.9.

Cons: None so far.

Overall Review: Took a chance on some newer tech and this performs way beyond my expectations. Windows 7 Home Premium and Ultimate. Yes, I put one in each of our computers.

Follow up on previous post..

Foxconn X38A LGA 775 Intel X38 ATX Intel Motherboard
Foxconn X38A LGA 775 Intel X38 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Stable board at default settings. Seems to have alot of potential with future bios releases. North Bridge runs cool.

Cons: Bios resets to defaults if post fails or if you change to many settings at one time. Setting up DDR3 can be a challenge as bios behaves well at SPD program speed but resets on every failed attempt to reach rated memory speed.

Overall Review: Check your memory for programmed SPD speed. The board handles memory well at the SPD default.
